K057. Is the theology of martyrdom still applicable to the church?

A Theology of Martyrdom

I tend to say 'Yes' and 'No' again. But I realize that it is not 'Yes' and 'No' by what Jesus taught in the following Bible verses; it is a mandate:
Luk 14:23-27 KJV  And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled .. (25)  And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,  (26)  If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, .. yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.  (27)  And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Does it mean that all of us have to be martyrs to be His disciples? No, the Lord wants us to have the spirit of martyrs. Not everyone can become the real martyrs, but all can have the spirit and quality of a real martyr.

Similarly, the Lord wants us to follow the Spirit of the law of God too, not to teach everyone to come under the law again, legalistically or ritualistically like the Pharisees. Hence, the true believers of Jesus Christ are not under the law to obey God through the works of the law legalistically or through the physical rituals of the law; but they obey through the Spirit of Christ:
Rom 8:2-4 KJV  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  (3)  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  (4)  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Now please think, Is it possible for a New Covenant believer to obey the gospel of grace like the rituals of the Old Covenant? Of course, yes. I have heard preachers who tell their believers to confess the righteousness of God 500 times or 5000 times mindlessly, or confess it for prosperity or some other purposes. They may not tell the believers to do it like a rigid ritual, but they will subtly convince them to think of it or believe it radically without the true Spirit of Christ. Hence, there is this silly or rigid impression which says that everyone who confesses only grace or righteousness would be 'forever' saved. They devise a different form of 'rituals' or 'definition' (outside the words of God and doctrine of Christ) for their own lawlessness and effortless success (without knowing the power of godliness), and then accuse all others who practice godliness and do not follow them as the opponents of God.

Some may even pervert the teaching of grace or holy communion to soothe the conscience of anyone who practices sins.
2Ti 3:1-7 KJV  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  (2)  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, ..  (5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away ..
They practice sins or do sins; but teach the law of God as hard saying and therefore, they teach that they do not need to keep it. I will ask them, Do you said that, if no one can keep the laws, therefore no one should keep the laws? Will you also say, "If no one can take up his cross, therefore no one should take up his cross too" ? No.
