About this blog

Why is the name of this blog called "Sound doctrine VS Radical grace" ?

It is because, like what the radical grace preachers said "There is no mixture", sound doctrine and radical grace don't mix. If they preach sound doctrine, they will not preach radical grace, and vice versa (ie. if they preached radical grace, they will unlikely teach sound doctrine and the principles of the doctrine of Christ seriously). Similarly if someone preaches "God vs Satan" or "God vs Mammon", he will have to either focus entirely on the things of God, or on the other things; he would never stand on the middle and preach the things to and fro from both sides (like oxymoron) to confuse the people:
  • Luk 16:13-17 KJV  No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.  (14)  And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.  (15)  And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.  (16)  The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.  (17)  And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. (This shows us clearly that the Pharisees were covetous and lawless. They would never focus on God and the laws of God; instead, they focused on mammon, lawlessness (Mat 23:28 LITV), perverted laws (Mk 7:11), circumcision (Act 15:5), and the works of the law of the Old Testament (Gal 2:16).)
Many people today are still very confused about the principles of the doctrine of Christ in Heb 6:1-2 because they have been listening to too many radical grace preachers who preached radical revolution, twisted God's commands, and made the doctrine of Christ (eg. repentance, eternal judgement, and God's laws) of none effect. However, when the radical grace preachers have started to realise their mistakes and change their doctrine subtly, deceitfully, or evasively, many people still do not know about it, but continue to live under their lawless errors, thinking that the radical grace preachers were still great preachers of God's words and revelation.

What is the difference between sound doctrine and radical grace teaching ?
Of course, you will find many differences if you have listened long enough to both types of preachers. You will soon find that the major difference between them is their approach to the preaching of the gospel. The sound doctrine preachers would focus on the words of God, the laws of God, sound doctrine, and principles that teach Bible values, salvation, repentance, eternal judgement, and end time warnings; whilst the radical grace preachers would focus on grace, favours, prosperity, the goodness of God, and their 'anointed' revelation or 'spoken' words without the teaching of any law or commandment from God's written words. Instead, they would teach that hearing and believing of their 'anointed' grace revelation is more important or more effective than the doing of God's words and commandments. They would boast that their 'anointed' revelation, like Christ's, has indeed prospered many countless believers who have no more sin conscience (or who have sinless conscience), and that they have given them many effortless successes and lawless health and wealth breakthroughs. Hence, they believe that law and grace do not mix, and they would teach only 'pure grace', plus some of their 'mind changing' philosophy from their understanding of 'pure grace', which may or may not help to shape the mentality or the characters of their believers.
  1. The sound doctrine preachers would preach Heb 8:10 and Heb 10:16 as the law of God in their mind and would teach the people to meditate and do the laws of God as written in Psalm 1:1-3, Mat 5:17-19, and Rev 22:14
  2. But the radical grace preachers would deliberately misinterpret all those Bible verses as the 'new covenant' with their 'law of not doing any more laws'. It is to them the 'law of rest' or the 'law of doing nothing' in their mind. They told the people that God has told them to preach the gospel revolution to put the new 'law' (ie. the law of effortless success or the law of doing no more laws) into their mind. However, I would think that many people do not need to keep such 'law' (or law of 'lawlessness'). Why ? It is because most people of the world have already lived lawlessly, lived under sins, or lived 'freely', as they are all lost sinners without any God's laws (though they may still have God's conscience which tells them right from wrong Rom 2:13-14). They need to hear the Lord's repentance message, not the no condemnation message.
1Jn 3:2-4 LITV  Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.  (3)  And everyone having this hope on Him purifies himself even as that One is pure.  (4)  Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
Hence, it is ridiculous to know that God would still put such 'lawlessness' into the mind of His people again. Only the beast and Satan will tell people to keep no more God's law or commandment in their mind:
Rev 12:17 KJV  And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ ... Rev 14:11-13 KJV  And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.  (12)  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.  (13)  And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them ... Rev 22:13-14 KJV  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.  (14)  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

The purpose of this blog is to ask sound, solid, and solemn biblical questions which point people to salvation. Ironically, at the end of our discussions, we may still be amused to know that this blog "Sound doctrine VS Radical grace" will show us that:

The Bible has never told us to preach "Law VS Grace" !

However, the Bible has told us that we can preach "Old testament VS New testament" or vice versa. Why? It is because no one will preach both. We must cast away one to keep the other; otherwise, one will 'burst' the other, like the illustration of the 'new wine' which will burst the 'old wine skin'.

Hence, in that similar Bible context, we can preach it as follows: "The 'law' VS the New covenant", "The Jewish law VS the gospel of grace", "God vs Mammon"; but not "Law VS Grace". Why?
It is because law, commandment, sound doctrine, repentance, and grace, are the gifts of God which can never become obsolete. Hence, we don't radically preach one against another (or one vs another) to do the elimination process against the gifts of God. It makes no sense to preach: "fathers vs mothers", "God vs His laws and commandments", or "God vs all His gifts" too.
However, most radical grace preachers today would still preach it as follows: "grace vs God's laws", "grace vs sound doctrine", "grace vs repentance", "grace vs eternal judgement", "grace vs faith", "grace vs obedience", "grace vs the doctrine of Christ", "grace vs conviction of the Holy Spirit", "confession of righteousness (in grace) vs confession of sins", "sonship (in grace) vs servanthood" ... They may show people that they have worshipped or magnify the God of grace gloriously; but, secretly they have worshipped 'grace' or the gift of God as an object or idol which will gratify their desires and give them all kinds of excuses to reject the words of God, the laws, the commandments, and the doctrine of Christ, in the name of 'radical grace' or 'lawless grace'.
I will tell them, Contrary to what you said, sound doctrine can never make us legalistic or hypocritical; it will only make God's doctrine simpler, clearer, and sharper for the perfection of man. Without it, many preachers would become lawless and careless in their doctrine. Many of them could have thrown away all God's doctrine with the thinking that they would be free from all kinds of bondages to God's doctrine and laws. They now think and teach that they are radically free because they are true sons of God and hence they have no more servanthood or obedience, even to the righteousness of God. Obviously, they have not read their Bible:
  • 2Jn 1:9-10 KJV  Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.  (10)  If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
  • 1Ti 6:3-7 KJV  If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;  (4)  He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,  (5)  Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.  (6)  But godliness with contentment is great gain.  (7)  For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
  • Rom 6:13-22 KJV  (13) .. but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. ..   (16)  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? .. (19).. ; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. ... (22)  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

There are too many websites which claim that they believe in sound doctrine and oppose radical grace. But when they started to offer arguments against the radical doctrines, they themselves became radical with their laws, commandments, judgement, traditions, repentance, or doctrines which have no resemblance to any of God's doctrine or sound doctrine in the Bible. Their teachings are totally impractical, senseless, radical, and are only good for those who live in seclusion or medieval world. Of course, from the choice of their words or old religious jargon, we should know that they did not create those doctrines with sincerity. They could have created the false doctrines to impress the people that sound doctrine is medieval, old, legalistic, heartless, hypocritical, mean, fault finding, and ungracious. They have no fear in great pretence and falsehood .. they probably think that they are still righteous because they are doing it for a 'good cause' (in the name of grace ?)..    Ok, while they are thinking that they are still doing it for a 'good cause' or living 'deceitfully' with their old doctrines in the 18 century medieval world, I will show them how to engage sensible arguments against the modern mind philosophies, liberal beliefs, radical grace, and New Age's lawless doctrines in our present world.

Hence, the purpose of this website is to ask questions. If the radical grace preachers would preach radical doctrines, we would ask them even more radical questions about their doctrines. The purpose is to find out if their radical intention is in the will of God or according to the word of God and sound doctrine. Hence, we must ask sensible and honest questions, and get to the bottom of it if we really want the people to know the truth:
1Co 9:25-27 KJV  1Co 9:23-27 KJV  And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.  (24)  Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.  (25)  And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.  (26)  I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:  (27)  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Yes, Paul knew that he was very passionate in what he was preaching, but he also knew that every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate (under self-control) in all things too. Therefore, he would bring his passion into subjection: lest by any means, when he had preached to others, he himself became a castaway. It means he would always be temperate (under self-control) and would not preach anything radically.
Tit 2:1-2 KJV  But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:  (2)  That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate (under self-control), sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
If we look at what Paul said in 1 Cor 9:27 again, we know that Paul did not preach radical grace and promise that everyone is saved. He kept the warnings of the Lord and reminded himself by saying, ".. (27) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when he  preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.. (otherwise, I could fall and lose my inheritance)."

Of course, we do not challenge only the radical grace preachers, but we will also challenge ourselves and everyone to answer some of the questions we've raised here.  We should ask ourselves if we have become so radical that we would promote and promise just any kind of radical grace or prosperity to the sinners. Many radical grace doctrines today have been preached like incredible revolution to better health and wealth. However, underneath that great 'selling' of grace and prosperity to the Gentile sinners (without any true repentance from sins), there is also a mysterious well-hidden 'lawless' doctrine (2Th 2:7-12) which rejects all God's laws and commandments using the misquoted argument from Paul against the old Jewish law and covenant, which are no longer valid in our Gentile world. You may think that some of them were sincere preachers who were ignorant about it, until you started to ask them about their biblical stand on God's commandments, repentance, conviction of sins, and discipleship.

Hence, I will tell those who cannot see the purpose of this blog, If the radical grace preachers are free to argue radically against the preaching and teaching of God's laws, commandments, and repentance from their pulpits every week, we should be free to give them our answers from our platforms too. Otherwise, it would be very unfair for those who need to hear the word of God.

1. There are questions about the need to preach 'radical' grace
2. Radical grace is no more the pure grace we know in the past
3. Wrong doctrine cannot save
4. Doctrine without repentance cannot save
5. What is radical grace ?
6. Radical grace or grace alone will not lead the people to repentance;
7. But right preaching will lead people to repentance
8. What is right preaching ?
9. The Lord has shown us how to do the right preaching with His words
10. Right preaching must mention the need of the people to repent
11. Why would the Lord command us to preach repentance?
12. Last time, I believed in radical grace:
13. But now I believe in sound doctrine (which includes grace too)
14. It's time for more sound doctrine
15. Did grace or the goodness of God lead to repentance in (Rom 2:4)?

1. There are questions about the need to preach 'radical' grace
Before we really explore and find out if 'radical' grace is true grace or false grace, we already have reasonable ground to question its biblical existence from two angles:
  1. 'Radical' grace has never been mentioned directly or literally in the Bible. Unlike 'sound doctrine', 'commandments', 'baptism of repentance', and many God's doctrines, 'radical' grace is implied from Paul's arguments with the Pharisees. It became 'radical' because Paul had emphasized it against the law of the Pharisees and the Pharisees had probably considered it as 'radical' or 'license to sin'. Of course, Paul did not preach it as 'license to sin'. Paul denied preaching it as 'radical' or 'license to sin'. Rom 6:1-3 KJV  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?  (2)  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?  (3)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Hence, 'radical' grace is just a fictitious grace which would not have existed in the eyes of Paul and all the believers who knew grace.
  2. Jesus and the Apostles had never preached 'radical' grace specifically. Although the adulterous woman might have received much grace or 'radical' grace because of her 'radical' repentance or the Lord's forgiveness of all her sins, she knew that Jesus had never preached or promised radically that all the sinners would receive grace radically or receive 'radical' grace.
  3. Rom 6:1-4 KJV  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?  (2)  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?  (3)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  (4)  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
    Obviously, the Bible has shown us that the gospel preached by Paul was radical grace or revolution against all God's laws and commandments (or license to sin) only to the Pharisees. But to Paul and to all the believers who have known the Bible truth and the baptism of repentance, the gospel is definitely not radical grace, revolution against all God's laws and commandments, or license to sin, it is God's power to salvation, truth, and godliness.Tit 1:1 KJV  Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
Paul would forbid anyone including himself to preach the gospel as license to sin or to give people the impression that the gospel is license to sin or 'radical' grace. Rom 6:2 KJV  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Paul had preached godliness, purity, doing good, contentment, humility, fruit of the Holy Spirit, and God's commandments in many of his epistles so that the believers would never misunderstand the gospel as radical grace or license to sin. Now if the Lord and the Apostles would never preach grace radically or preach the gospel as 'radical' grace, why do we want to preach it radically? Why do we accuse others by saying that if they did not preach the gospel until people misunderstood the gospel as license to sin, they have not preached grace? In our world full of sinners, isn't it easy to preach a gospel which is similar to lawlessness or something which is easily misunderstood as license to sin? I am afraid it is not the question of needs, it is the question of motives.
2. Radical grace is no more the pure grace we know in the past
It has evolved into the oxymoron or worldly grace which appeals to the people of the world. It has been exploited by the prosperity preachers who want to preach against all the laws including God's laws and commandments. It is no longer the pure grace which we normally believe for salvation. Instead it is something that has been radically and beautifully preached to give sinners and believers the false impression that Christians have no more laws or do not need to keep God's commandments, and hence they have more freedom and more prosperity as compared with the traditional believers. Many preachers have started to preach and boast about this grace radically or just the radical grace.  they preached  no more laws ? no more future sins ? no confession of sins ? Repentance is just believing only ? Repentance has no mentioning of sins ? Paul is a grace preacher, not a repentance preacher ? Cast out the bondwomen means cast out all God's laws ? Teaching of God's laws and principles is 'mixture' with grace ?
I will tell them, If the people do not have to keep any Jewish laws, circumcise themselves, and fulfil any vows before God in the old covenant, it does not mean that the people today has no more law or commandment in the new covenant. Please don't confuse the sinners and the Gentiles who do not know the distinction between the law (the old covenant) and God's commandments.
Churches, Please think, Why do we still keep God's commandments? Why did Jesus tell the devil that it is written .. , it is written .. , it is written .. in Matt 4:4-11 ? It is because the devil had kept telling man and probably the Lord that there was no more law, no more commandment, and no more command from God. Hence, when Jesus said, "It is written" three times, He was telling the devil assuredly that there was law, there was commandment, and there was still God's command for man, Mat 4:4 KJV  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God... (10) .. Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

3. Wrong doctrine cannot save
However, most of these radical grace preachers will deny that they have preached lawlessness or anti-repentance. They will also preach a lot of righteousness and right believing in the name of Christ too. Hence, it is not easy to argue with them when they cover their 'back' with lots of oxymoron arguments which go to and fro from one doctrine to another. So, is it possible for us to discern them ? Yes, just focus on their teaching and theology on God's laws and repentance. Why? If they have preached wrongly on God's laws and repentance, they cannot lead people to salvation. It would show that their doctrine cannot save and that they are not God's prophets:
  1. Mat 7:15-24 KJV  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (16)  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? ... (20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.  (21)  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  (22)  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  (23)  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.  (24)  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
  2. 1Ti 4:11-16 KJV  These things command and teach.  (12)  Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.  (13)  Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. .. (16)  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
4. Doctrine without repentance cannot save
Non-believers would receive false doctrine because they are untrained in Bible knowledge. They are as ignorant as Nicodemus who did not know repentance or the re-birth of their spirit through the dying of self or repentance, commonly known as being born again. Jesus knew that the Pharisees would have difficulty to understand the re-birth or born again experience (John 2:1-21, Matt 3:7-11)

5. What is radical grace ?
Luk 7:44-48 KJV  And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.  (45)  Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.  (46)  My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.  (47)  Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.  (48)  And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
The Lord has shown us that a sinner who knows about his or her radical sins will receive much grace (or 'radical grace' if you insist). However, many preachers today have preached a different 'radical grace'. They preach it as a 'radical favour' to prosper us, or an unmerited favour which will transform us from being a poor person to be a millionaire, a prince, or a successful tycoon who will possess great material wealth and blessings like Abraham. I don't wish to go into long arguments with them; I will just ask them, Do you agree that the woman above had received radical grace ? Did God tell you that she became a millionaire or a successful woman after receiving radical grace? If you can convince your followers to believe that radical grace had prospered her or increased her wealth, it is only from your own doctrines or vain imagination. It is not from the Bible. Yes, the Lord did promise much grace (or 'radical grace' if you insist) to those who repent radically like the woman above; but the Bible did not tell us that the Lord guaranteed radical riches or prosperity to any sinners who would just want to receive or believe in His radical grace without doing any repentance. Obviously radical grace does not prosper. Or if it does, it does not prosper everyone. If it does prosper everyone, everyone will not want to repent from their sins radically, they would just want to prosper radically ..

6. Radical grace or grace alone will not lead the people to repentance;
It will lead people to 'metanoia' only ! It's because radical grace people believe that repentance is just to believe only or to change your mind only. Hence, they will never think that they have sinned or have the need to repent from sin. They 'repent' by changing their mind without confessing or admitting that they are sinners. They don't feel remorseful or unworthy as sinners before God. Instead they feel that God owes the sinner the answer to their sin problem. One of the greatest lies or excuses they have made to justify their radical grace message which have no true repentance is their argument that the preaching of goodness of God or grace alone will lead people to repentance. However, I will challenge the people to think, If Jesus or John the Baptist did not come preaching and asking the people to repent, do you think the people will know that they have to repent and will repent? Yes, Jesus and John the Baptist could show a lot of grace and goodness of God by doing many miracles, but would the people repent? I don't think so. If Jesus would just come to show the goodness of God and perform many miracles:
  1. Yes, Jesus might even turn the hearts of the people of Sodom and Gomorrha to know that God is an extremely good God and to love God
  2. but His goodness and grace might not lead them to repent
  3. Why? It's because without clear message of repentance, sinners like Sodom or Gomorrha are like any sinners; they will not repent without the preaching of repentance from God's preachers like Jesus, John the Baptist, the disciples of Jesus, or prophet Jonah..
  • Mat 4:17 KJV  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
  • Mat 3:1-3 KJV  In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,  (2)  And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  (3)  For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
  • Luk 24:47-48 KJV  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  (48)  And ye are witnesses of these things.
  • Jon 1:1-2 KJV  Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,  (2)  Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
  • Act 8:22-25 KJV  Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.  (23)  For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.  (24)  Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.  (25)  And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
7. But right preaching will lead people to repentance
Now please be honest: When Simon thought of the goodness of God and the power of the Holy Spirit alone (or how he could be blessed and prospered by it), would he repent if Peter did not come? No. Instead, he could have in the end listen to the evil spirit who will gladly open the latent power of his soul and flesh. He would become a great prophet who came from the Apostle's church; but with great deceiving power and sorcery. Hence, if Peter did not come, the goodness of God alone would not lead Simon to repentance. Sometimes the goodness of God may not lead people to repentance until God's preachers or repentance preachers come !
However, how many repentance preachers can you find today? Sighh.. Repentance preachers may have all become 'extinct' or 'out of job' since most people of the world and sinners would love only radical grace preachers or prosperity preachers. Some may even choose to believe in a false prophet knowingly because of their desperate need to prosper.
Hence, right preaching will lead to right believing. And right believing will lead to right living or right thinking. However, without the right preaching, how can the people believe right? Without believing right, how can the people of the world or the sinners repent or do right before God? This is the Bible truth:
Rom 10:13-17 KJV  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  (14)  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?  (15)  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!  (16)  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?  (17)  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Please pay attention to what Esaias saith above in (V16) and then compare it with what Esaias saith in Mat 3:3 above when John the Baptist preached about repentance. Hence, this is the Bible truth that faith and repentance cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Hence, how can people come to repentance if there is no preaching of repentance, repentance preachers, or repentance prophets?
Luk 5:32 KJV  I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
I do not deny that sometimes the movies and the Good Friday's skits on the extreme suffering of Jesus on the cross may lead people to repentance (if you insist) too, but don't you agree that all the special effects of the movies, skits, and the blood and gore on the Good Friday, can never replace the clear and short preaching of repentance? Hence, by showing the goodness of God or the blood and gore of the Lord's suffering may be good 'promotion' on Easter Sunday, but it would be hollow without any preaching or explaining to the sinners why they need Jesus or need to repent. Otherwise, the sinners would just watch it like any 'blood and gore' or haunted Hollywood movies and they may still go home without knowing the gospel of Jesus Christ (who called all sinners to repentance). However, many preachers would still argue and justify themselves by saying that the sinners would at least go home knowing the goodness of God even though there was no preaching of repentance. But I would question them,
  1. Are you ignorant about the gospel of Jesus Christ which must include repentance from sins or
  2. Are you afraid to preach repentance to offend the sinners ?
  • However, after thinking through, I am afraid the second question could be the most likely reason. Please think, If you have made conscientious efforts to create the skits to get people to come on Easter Sunday to hear the gospel, you are not ignorant of the need for people to get saved. Hence, I am sure you are not ignorant about the need for people to repent too. If you are not ignorant, then why are you afraid to preach or show the sinners why they need to repent?
8. What is right preaching ?
I have heard of a radical grace preacher who explained why he thought that repentance preaching was not the right preaching. He argued, "Why must we preach repentance? We have been fooled by the traditional repentance preachers who asked all of us to repent, repent, repent... As a result, I had to whisper to myself all day's long, confessing my sins whenever I felt guilty .. In the end, the more I repent and confess my sins, the more I felt guilty and condemned.. I am glad that I've come out of their churches and their bondages .. and start my own gospel revolution which is similar to Martin Luther's movement. Martin Luther stressed on faith alone can save whilst I stress grace alone can save .. "
I will tell him,
  • Do you know that Jesus, John the Baptist, Paul, and all the disciples of the Lord could be known as the 'traditional repentance preachers' too. They had asked everyone to repent too. Act 17:30-31 KJV  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  (31)  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness .. Act 26:19-21 KJV  Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:  (20)  But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.  (21)  For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
  • If you said that the more you repented, the more you felt condemned, it would only show that you did not want to repent. That's why the more you confessed your sins, the more you felt that your confession was not sincere, and the more felt guilty. When you did not have the intention to repent, how can any amount of whispering and confessing clear your guilt conscience of the sins that you had committed or was about to commit ? Hence, you were not in the position to judge the Lord's repentance message too.
  • If it was true that you had been asked to confess sins repetitively like a parrot, I am feeling sorry for you. Obviously, you had been taught to confess sins the wrong way by the wrong repentance preachers. True repentance is a life long repenting process which is a genuine attitude before God, not just an outward repetitive empty words or a 'once and for all' experience to cut off yourselves successfully and totally from your old human nature or 'old man'. If you want to know how to preach repentance or do repentance correctly, please read the whole gospel. You would have found that Jesus and John the Baptist had never preached "Repent, repent, repent .." or told the people to confess repetitively like the parrots or the Pharisees. Jesus had preached repentance throughout all His ministry; but He would preach it so wisely that nobody would say that all He could say was only "Repent, repent, repent".
9. The Lord has shown us how to do the right preaching with His words
Please read about how Jesus preached the parable of the prodigal son wisely in Luk 15:11-32. Do you agree that it was a clear perfect repentance message which has described the real state of our sinful nature and our need to repent (because all of us ARE like the prodigal sons)? Radical grace preachers may argue, "It is the Father's goodness which lead the prodigal son to repentance. Repentance did not lead him to the Father. That's why we don't preach repentance; we preach more on the goodness of God and prosperity.." I will ask them, Will the prodigal son receive the Father's goodness if he did not repent and go back to the Father? Hence, if he repented, went back, and received his Father's love, his repentance has led him to the Father, not the other way round. Radical grace preachers will argue, "Why not? It is the unchanging love of the Father which reminded the prodigal son to go home and it led him to the Father." I will tell them, The Father's love is always unchanging to every sinner. But there were still sinners who would not respond. Hence, the Father's unchanging love may not lead everyone to Him until they have started to repent. The Father's love has always been there for every prodigal son before and after they have sinned. But only after they have started to repent, will they be led to the Father's love again. Hence, only repentance can lead the sinners back to the Father's love.
Below is another parable of the Lord on repentance:
Luk 16:25-31 KJV  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. ...  (30)  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  (31)  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
The Lord had shown us clearly again why men must repent. He told us that the rich man in hell had not only recognised his need to repent; but also the need for all his five brothers to repent. If the above two parable on repentance cannot convince us sufficiently that Jesus has preached much on repentance or the need of men to repent. Please read the whole gospel and find out how He preached it in the other parts of the gospels too:
Luk 24:47-48 KJV  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  (48)  And ye are witnesses of these things.Mat 28:19-20 KJV  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  (20)  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Hence, Jesus and the Apostles did not call all men to prosperity or radical grace (which promises effortless success and prosperity); but to repentance. However, radical grace preachers would argue, "Yes, we agree that Jesus did call all men to repentance. But we also know that when all men have repented, they will become righteous. When they become righteous, they will prosper too. Hence, what's wrong if we preach that the gospel will prosper and that the goodness of God will ultimately lead people to repentance.. "
I will tell them, Yes, I agree that you did make all men to 'prosper' (or think that they have prospered). I don't care if you preach prosperity, wealth, gold, silver, or diamond. But if you give people the idea that preaching all these will lead people to repentance, you are preaching lies. Besides, Jesus have never told us to preach oxymoron; He emphasized on the right focus when preaching the kingdom of God. Can you see His focus when He preached the following Bible verses:
Mat 6:32-34 KJV  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  (33)  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  (34)  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Can you see the Lord's focus when He mentioned the word 'but', 'first', and 'therefore' in the Bible verses above? It means that He wants us to think, preach, and seek more of the kingdom of God and less of the riches, clothings, material wants, and "all these things which the Gentiles seek". If the preachers don't preach or set themselves as the example of this Bible verse, how can they lead the people to seek God's righteousness? However, contrary to what the Lord preached, many of them have set themselves as the example or model of great success, to draw people to seek more prosperity instead.
Mar 7:10-13 KJV  For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:  (11)  But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.  (12)  And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;  (13)  Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Mat 23:13 KJV  But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Mat 23:23 KJV  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Luk 11:44 KJV  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
Obviously, the Pharisees had preached everything but left out the "weightier matters of the law, judgement, mercy, and faith" in God's Covenant which is to worship God with a sincere heart, to obey God's commandments, to live Godly lives, and to stop living like a religious greedy hypocrite. However, many preachers today may preach everything but leave out the most important and the most fundamental doctrine of God's covenant too, by deceiving the people and themselves that repentance, turning away from sins, or change of the hearts is too fundamental to be called a saving doctrine. Instead, they preach anti-repentance philosophies and arguments which leave out the most important doctrine of Christ, the law of the New covenant, and the law of the Spirit and truth. Nobody would know about it - just like what Jesus said: they are all like graves "which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.."
Rom 8:2-4 KJV  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  (3)  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  (4)  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
If we walk in the Spirit without the law of the Spirit of Christ, how can we tell others that we are walking after the Spirit. No, we would be walking like the Pharisees who walked around like the 'zombies' (or graves) without God's laws, God's commandments, and God's Spirit.

10. Right preaching must mention the need of the people to repent
Many radical grace preachers today think that preaching grace alone or preaching the goodness of God alone to the sinners is the right preaching. I will tell them, Maybe you are right. Maybe you have 1001 reasons to convince all your followers that you have preached rightly. Maybe you have successfully taken away all their guilt feeling. Maybe you have truly prospered them, Maybe ..., but the Bible tells me that your preaching is not the Bible way or the Lord's way. It could be just as good as (as right as or as logical as) the ways that we have learnt from other very good religious ways, socio-psychological ways, or worldly ways. Please think, If Jesus did not come, will the sinners be forgiven? No. I hope that you have no problem answering this simple question. Now, presumably if Jesus did come but He would just come without any preaching of repentance, will the sinners still be forgiven? No, It's because if all sinners are called to repentance, they would need to repent. No one can dispute about it.
Now, if the sinners are forgiven by just believing only, will they still be called sinners in the eyes of God. No, they would be just 'good' people who need to believe God or to have faith in God only. Please think, Are there really such good people around ? Are there such good people who would only need to believe in God (or just to change their minds only) without any need to repent from their sins? No, this type of assumption or preaching which tells the sinners to 'believe only' is absurd. If this can affect people's vital decision to receive salvation, I would say that those who preach it are preaching lies, false doctrines. and condemnation. Isn't it ironical when they keep telling you repetitively that this is their 'no condemnation' or 'radical grace' gospel ? Hence, ultimately you will have to choose and answer this yourselves: Will you believe 'radical grace' which will not tell any men to repent or will you believe the Bible?

11. Why would the Lord command us to preach repentance?
Luk 24:47 KJV  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Do you know why the Lord commanded His disciples to preach repentance? The reason is very simple – it could be too simple that we only want to hear complicated arguments. Many of us have been so confused by the radical grace philosophies or unrepentant psychologies that we have forgotten the simple reason why the Lord commanded us to preach repentance:-
The preaching of repentance would simply lead people to repentance !
Mar 6:7-13 KJV  And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits .. (12)  And they went out, and preached that men should repent.  (13)  And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
Act 3:19 KJV  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; (here Why didn't Peter say, 'Believe ye therefore.. that your sins may be blotted out ?)
Rom 10:14 KJV  How then shall they
call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
I will tell the radical grace preachers, Yes, I will not deny that grace may lead people to repentance; but I will not deny that the Bible, the love of God, the Holy Spirit, and the preaching of repentance will lead people to repentance too. Hence, if you preach radical grace as though it is the only true doctrine which will lead people to repentance, you have condemned all the other's preaching as useless, except your own. You have condemned the Lord's teaching too. You have knowingly or unknowingly tried to stop others from following the Lord to following you yourselves only. Hence, I will never believe your words even if you tell me that the Lord had appeared to you in a vision and commanded you to preach radical grace or to preach grace radically. You may say that your grace message is radically filled with the words of grace or positive words from the Lord; but to me your radical grace message is full of radical condemnation against true repentance and other preachers who preach the word and commandments of God faithfully. You are more condemning than them because:
They preached God's commandment and repentance to condemn sins; but you preached radical grace to condemn all God's preachers.
Radical grace preachers will still argue, ".. but repentance is the old covenant teaching.. The Jewish people loved to repent from sins and confess sins. They always tell people to repent, repent, repent. But Jesus changed the meaning of repentance to believe only or to metanoia only .." I will tell them, I don't know from where you get the idea that Jesus has changed the meaning of repentance. But I can tell you that Jesus would call only sinners to repentance, not the righteous to repentance.
Luk 5:31-32 KJV  And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.  (32)  I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
  1. To repent is not to believe only - I will ask them, If 'to repent' is 'to believe only', why would Jesus tell us the above. Obviously 'to repent' is not the same as 'to believe only' when 'what the sinner will do' (repentance) is not 'what the righteous will do' (like believing only). Of course, the righteous can believe God, praise God, change their minds only, ..etc; but they will never do repentance like the sinners by confessing their sins - they have no sins to confess, they are too good to confess any sins; however, they are non-existent in our world. No one is too perfect to be exempted from repentance and confession of sins. However, radical grace preachers will argue, "No, we are the exception. We don't call ourselves sinners anymore because we are the righteousness of God. Hence, those who still call themselves sinners and still believe in repentance are not truly saved. They did not honour the blood of Christ. That's why they keep on repenting when all their sins have been forgiven. However, their constant repentance attitude about their sins will never remove their sins conscience. They will in the end abuse the blood of Christ, sin wilfully and lose their salvation as mentioned in Heb 10:26-29.." I will tell them, Please do not quote the Bible out of its context. Please read what Paul said about himself first:
Rom 7:14 KJV  For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 3:9-10 KJV  What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;  (10)  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:  ..   Rom 5:8 KJV  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were (were - present participle) yet sinners, Christ died for us.
We are righteous in Christ because we are counted worthy by the blood of Christ in God's eyes; it does not mean that we have become 'saints' in our own eyes. The recognition that we are still sinners and that we still need grace everyday will also reveal that we should be in repentance attitude everyday. No one can deny this. They will still argue, "But I've checked the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries. Repent is from the word 'metanoia' - 'meta' means change, 'noia' means your minds, the whole word means change your minds or change from unbelief to belief.." I will tell them, Have you heard of an English professor who argued with his student about the definition of 'love'? The English professor argued, "The definition of 'love' is 'A strong positive emotion of regard and affection'. Why do you add so many irrelevant and inaccurate words to describe 'love'. I don't see 'any love is patient or kind' in my dictionary or 'love your neighbour as yourself' ?" Obviously, the English professor did not read the Bible or know how to love. Hence, if you tell me that according to your dictionary you can only find the meaning of 'change your mind', either you have not read the Bible or you do not know how to repent too. Yes, you may believe or change your mind only, but do you know that the Pharisees and the devils can believe and change their minds only? It's because they cannot repent - Mat 3:7-8 KJV  But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  (8)  Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Jas 2:19-20 KJV  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.  (20)  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Hence, we should not be surprise to know that there would be preachers who preach that keeping God's commandment is literally 'keeping' them in their hearts or in their minds without doing it. They would meditate, memorise, and confess the law of God day and night without thinking of doing it like the way the Pharisees confessing the Corban (Mark 7:11).
  2. Repentance is not old covenant teaching- I will ask the radical grace preachers, Do you still baptise your believers in your churches? If baptism of repentance is an old covenant teaching, water baptism could only be just a form of the old covenant teaching too because John the Baptist did water baptism too. Please don't tell me that you have been baptising people under water by just going through the motion without knowing the implication of doing it. I would conclude that you don't know what you are preaching or doing. Of course, we don't tell people to beat themselves, confess repetitive words like a parrot, and whispering to themselves like a weirdo - that's what the Pharisees did hypocritically when they 'repent' or 'metanoia' without any fruits worthy of repentance. But we tell people to repent by admitting their sins and confessing that they are sinners before God. Did you do that, radical grace preachers? They will argue, "Jesus told us that the repentance with confession of sin is like the teaching of the law until John. There should not be any confession of sin in repentance after the cut-off point between the Old and New covenant teaching - Mat 11:13  .. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John." I will tell them, Please read all the Bible verses in that chapter again. Obviously, Jesus did not mention it as the cut-off point. If this was the cut-off point, will you consider all His teaching on prayer in Luke 11:4 and Mat 6:12 (which has confession of sin), Matt 6:33 (seek ye first the kingdom of God), Luke 15:11 (repentance and the prodigal son), and Luke 10:33 (the parable of the Samaritan and doing good) as the law too? They will say, "Of course, anything which tells people to confess sins is under the law including the Lord's prayer in Luke 11:4 and Mat 6:12. The New covenant teaching started only after Jesus' resurrection, which is now mainly from Paul's doctrine and teaching in Romans, Corinthians, Galatians .. etc. Therefore, we will listen only to Paul's teaching on grace and repentance, not Jesus teaching on the laws, commandments, and repentance. Obviously, there is a big difference between Paul's repentance teaching and the Lord's repentance teaching .. There is no confession of sins in Paul's repentance .." I will tell them, If this is what you think, you are not a follower of Jesus Christ or Paul anymore, you are just a follower of yourselves. You have twisted the word of God by using your own reasoning. How can Paul's teaching be different from the Lord's ? How can you tell people to follow Paul instead of Jesus Christ, when Paul himself is a follower of Christ, and Paul has kept telling us to follow Christ? Stop deceiving yourselves and others.. Telling people to follow Paul's 'grace' teaching is just part of your conspiracy to stop people from following the true Jesus and keeping His commandments. After the people have started to listening to your argumentative and entertaining reasoning, you will not lead them to follow Paul either; you will just lead them to follow your own 'radical grace' teaching which is perversion of God's grace. You are more cunning than any man on our earth now: Gen 3:1-8 KJV  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  (2)  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:  (3)  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  (4)  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  (5)  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.  (6)  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.  (7)  And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.  (8)  And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
I will tell the radical grace preachers, You may boast that you have even opened the eyes of the believers who are in many well-known churches today. However, I will ask, If the believers have already been redeemed by the word of the Lord and become righteous (like the first Adam before his fall in the garden of Eden), do you think that the believers in the churches today will still need their eyes opened a second time? No. If their eyes are opened again by your 'lawless' or 'no condemnation' words, they will feel more condemned when they hear the true word of God or the voice of God again. Hence, I am not surprised to know that many believers will tell us that their eyes were opened but they would need to keep hearing the preaching of 'lawless grace' or 'radical grace' over and over, which has no God's commandment, to assure themselves (it is actually to cover their own nakedness or lawlessness before God). They may feel that they have been delivered from the 'old churches' doctrine; but only to realise that they have come under a new bondage which requires them to visit radical grace websites, fazebook, and TV broadcast, to listen to more 'no condemnation', 'too good to be true', or 'prosperity' promises..
Rev 3:17-19 KJV  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:  (18)  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.  (19)  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
  3. True repentance preachers will not tell people to repent later - Radical grace preachers will argue, "You can't argue with us because the Bible tells us clearly that, in the Old Testament, God blessed the people after they have repented; but the new way under grace is: God blesses the people before they will even repent. Hence, we will not tell people to repent first. We will tell them that the goodness of God will lead them or tell them to repent later. There are many examples in the Bible which tell us so ..." I will ask them, So, are you telling the people to receive the blessings first and repent later? I am quite sure all those Bible examples you quoted about God blessing you first, before you will even repent are all quoted out of its Bible context. If Jesus would preach repentance  like you, I will think that something is wrong with Him; He is either an imposter or a false Christ. However, I know that Jesus would never preach like you. He preached 'repent' first, and then 'believe', and then He showed the miracles. .. in this order: Mat 4:17 KJV  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mar 1:14-15 KJV Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,  (15)  And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. He has never preached and said, "Believe first and repent later" or "Ok. Come, line up here, and receive your healing first and then you repent !" No. All the sinners have known that Jesus wanted them to repent BEFORE He started to heal them, including the woman with the issue of blood in Matt 9:20-21 and the adulterous woman in Joh 8:10-11. Moreover, have never heard that Jesus changed the meaning of repentance after John was put in prison.
  4. Repentance is still for the sinners today - Lastly, I will ask them, Today do you still preach to the sinners? If you do, you will have to tell the sinners to repent because all of us are under sin and sold under sin. If you are afraid to tell them, let me do it for you: Rom 3:9-10 KJV  What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;  (10)  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 7:14-15 KJV  For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.  (15)  For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. We will still preach repentance today unless there are no more sinners in the world or if the Lord has agreed that all the sinners today will just need to believe only. Of course, Jesus will never change His command in: Luk 24:47-48 KJV  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  (48)  And ye are witnesses of these things.

Mat 28:19-20 KJV  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  (20)  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Act 17:30 KJV  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Act 20:20-21 KJV  And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,  (21)  Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Act 26:19-20 KJV  Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:  (20)  But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. We all know how to mock at the Pharisees by quoting from Joh 8:7 KJV ".. He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her" and Mat 5:28 KJV "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." That's because the Pharisees would never admit sins or admit that they were sinners. Now, please think, if we would boast that we can never sin or lust too, can we mock at the Pharisees? Of course not, we would be more hypocritical than the Pharisees. No one can say he would never sin or lust after other women. Jesus has proved the Pharisees wrong and He would prove us wrong too. Radical grace preachers will still argue, "Oh, we are different. Our righteousness is better than the righteousness of the Pharisees.. our righteousness is imputed by the blood of Jesus, our righteousness shows that we are more righteous than the Pharisees, we are under grace; they are not under law..we are more caring, we are not like the others who do not do this .. and that.. " I will ask them, Do you look on a woman to lust after her? If you don't, you can boast that you are more righteous than the Pharisees and can enter into the kingdom of God without repentance. But if you are still a sinner and could sin, you would still need repentance to enter into the kingdom of God: Mat 5:20 KJV  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
  5. Repentance will not cause sins conscience - I will tell them, If repentance from sins or confessing that we are the sinners will cause sins conscience, we should not call anybody 'sinners' from now on; we should just call everybody 'saints' or the 'righteous ones' and psycho ourselves to think that there is no more sinner, no more sin, and no more false prophets, in our world. Of course, this is absurd. Even in the most holy churches around the world, there are still sinners, adulterers, and cheaters. Of course, repentance from sin or confessing that we are the sinners will never remind us (who are repentant or pure in the heart) of sins conscience to sin more; it will only remind us of sins conscience to repent more. If the people can be so easily condemned by the preaching of sins and repentance, why didn't you tell Jesus to stop preaching repentance when He called sinners to repentance? Why didn't you correct Him and tell Him to call all sinners to believe only or to prosperity instead? Please think, Would the Lord wait for 2000 years later to let you change His definition of repentance to 'believe only'? Of course, this is absurd. However, what the Lord had prophesied is not the changing of 'repentance' 2000 years later. It's the rise of false prophets 2000 years later who will change His word: Mat 24:23-26 KJV  Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.  (24)  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.  (25)  Behold, I have told you before.  (26)  Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. If the false prophets and Pharisees had preached the their own laws and 'Corban' to prosper themselves, of course they will preach anything including grace and repentance to the people today too. But we know that they will change all the meaning of the words. They will just want to 'repent' like the Pharisees, abuse the grace of God, and preach the prosperity gospel. Of course, they will not be so stupid to preach the old law of circumcision, old Jewish laws, or old school rules and regulations to the people today. They will instead preach radical grace or false repentance ! They knew that the sinners or the unrepentant will feel condemned and become very stressful if they will tell them to do true repentance. So, they will improvise and change the repentance doctrine to suit the people but it has no fruits worthy of repentance, no recompense, no change from sinful lives, no commandments, no remorse for sins, and no humility. They think that sinners will just need to 'repent' happily or expectantly with the hope of getting more blessings, more riches, more favours, more prosperity, and more boastings like the Pharisees.

12. Last time, I believed in radical grace:
because I believe in our radical need to repent before God, knowing that we have sinned against God. There is repentance and grace for the rebellious
  1. if they would turn to God and turn away from their sins. However,
  2. if they would just turn to God without turning away from sins, can they deceive God that they have repented?
No, God knows that there is no repentance. Many radical grace preachers would argue that if they would just believe God or turn to God, they would have repented even if they do not turn away from their sins. But I will tell them, You may think that you have turned many to God but when they turned to God, it does not mean that they have repented or turned away from their sins. They have simply turn to become more 'religious' (in the new covenant) exactly like the Pharisees who believed God and turned to become very religious in their old covenant too; but they would never know what is repentance:
  • Luk 18:10-12 KJV  Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.  (11)  The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. (12)  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess... (Although both the Pharisee and publican were Jews living under the old covenant, one of them could have received some kind of 'grace' from God. So, Jesus has just shown us that anyone can still receive some kind of grace even if he were under the old covenant, provided he knew the repentance doctrine which is also required in God's new covenant. Luk 18:14 KJV  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Hence, we would never believe in radical grace just to think of how much righteousness or prosperity we have in comparing with others, devise all kinds of oxymoron 'anti'-repentance doctrine, and argue and boast of how much we know about God's grace and why we do not need to repent any more..

13. But now I believe in sound doctrine (which includes grace too)
It's because I believe that sound doctrine and grace will not boast radically; we who were radically boastful should be now radically humble. One of the ways to promote sound doctrine is to identity any radical or controversial doctrine. It should be followed by an honest and open discussion of it without hypocrisy. Hence, genuine short comments on the title are welcomed, if possible with supporting Bible references please.
  • Last time I thought the Pharisees were the most religious people in the world because of their radical belief in all their laws and Corban sayings (Mark 7:11).
  • But now I think the radical grace preachers and their believers are the most religious people because of their radical belief in prosperity and positive sayings in the name of Christ.
  • Both type of people are equally 'religious' in getting the favour and acceptance of God - there is no difference to me, to the people of the world who are not religious, and to God ..
Yes, you may say that I am very 'religious' too. Yes, I must admit that I was very religious like them, but now I would not want to be classified as 'being religious' anymore if 'being religious' would make me think or behave like them. May God help us.

14. It's time for more sound doctrine
Am I concluding that all the preaching of radical grace is bad and unfruitful? No, it may not be bad if it is preached without any intention to disannul or make the word of God, God's commandment, repentance, or the Lord's teaching of none effect. But if the preachers would just want to exploit on it like how the Pharisees had abused God's commandment to profit themselves, to devise confusion, and to politicise their own ideology to draw people to themselves, they could be false prophets. We must not be so naive to think that a false prophet can only corrupt God's laws and commandments; no, he can corrupt the gospel of grace too. As long as he can corrupt the word of God, he can corrupt both the commandment of God and the grace of God.
Mar 7:11-13 KJV  But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.  (12)  And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;  (13)  Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Mat 15:5-6 KJV  But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;  (6)  And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
Jesus has just said from the Bible verses above, The commandment of God is the word of God. If anyone preaches against or make the commandment of God none effect, he is preaching against or make the word of God none effect too. Hence, true grace will never preach against God's word or God's commandment; it preaches sound doctrine.

15. Did grace or the goodness of God lead to repentance in (Rom 2:4)?
Radical grace preachers will still argue, "Grace will lead to repentance. It is in the Bible. We can never go wrong. The Bible explains the Bible. So, those who preach against grace is preaching against God..."
I will ask them, Did you quote the Bible out of its context:
  • Rom 2:2-8 KJV  But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.  (3)  And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?  (4)  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?  (5)  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;  (6)  Who will render to every man according to his deeds:  (7)  To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:  (8)  But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Yes, grace or the goodness of God is supposed to lead you to repentance. But do you know how Paul said it to those who think that they can escape God's judgement? Who were those people Paul was talking to in the Bible verses above? Please read V3 again, Paul was talking to the rebellious, "(3)  And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?". Did they repent? No, Paul continued in the next verse, "(5)  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;" Obviously, the goodness of God was supposed to lead them to repentance; but it didn't. Some of them despised the riches of His goodness (V4)
Radical grace preachers will argue, "No, no.. you have misunderstood our messages. I did not say grace leads to repentance; I said grace leads to TRUE repentance - the repentance which has no confession of sins but believe only and 'metanoia' only. If we need to repent FROM SIN or to feel remorseful about our sins or to think that we are still sinners, we would have more sin conscience to sin. We would live like the devil. We will become more condemned..On the other hand, if we preach assurance that we can never sin, that we can never die, that we can never lose our salvation, or that we have no more sins conscience, we can never live like the devil .. We should no longer preach repentance like those condemning preachers and said, "REPENT, for the kingdom of God is at hand .." This is the old testament way of preaching repentance. We should tell people to repent in a more relaxing manner,.. it is just to metanoia or change your mind.. Haha, we can all repent effortlessly now.. Heh..heh.. God loves you, men.. We are all the disciples whom Jesus loved.. "
I will tell them, The disciples whom Jesus love is those who keep His commandments, not based on what you think only.
Joh 15:8-11 KJV  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.  .. (10)  If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. (11)  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Yes, of course, when Satan told Adam and Eve that they could never die even if they rebelled against God's command, they did not live like the devil lawlessly; but they 'died' spiritually. Even though the still lived; they lived 'nakedly' like the devil who was stripped off all power and glory.
Gen 2:16-17 KJV  And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:  (17)  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die ...  (3:4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
The Lord has also told us in a parable that there would be 'invited people' who have no wedding garments. They could have lost their 'garments' before the wedding or when they were in the wedding. They may not be the people who live lawlessly but they appear totally 'naked' before the King - a sharp contrast when they are among the other believers who has the full 'garments'.
Mat 22:2-14 KJV  The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,  (3)  And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: .. (11)  And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:  (12)  And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.  (13)  Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  (14) For many are called, but few are chosen.
Satan had lied to Adam and Eve that they could never 'die' or never lose their 'garment' when they were in God's garden. Similarly Satan will still try to lie to the believers when the believers are in the churches too that they can never lose their 'garment' regardless of how they listen to the word of God or who they are listening to. But the moment they listen to him, 'outwardly' they may never 'die', but 'inwardly' they could have lost their 'garments' by rejecting the Lord's commandments and repentance message.
Satan did try to tempt Jesus when Jesus was in the wilderness too (Matt 4:1-11). His motive was still the same, ie. to convince the Lord to listen to him and to reject God's commandments again. But Satan failed. This time our Jesus, the second Adam, did not lose His 'garment'. He was full of the glory of God. He became the first person who overcome Satan's temptation and become the most qualified person to preach repentance to man:
Mat 4:11-17 KJV  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him ... (17) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
  • Hence, true repentance message will never cause sins conscience to sin more or to live lawlessly like the devil; but it will cause sins conscience to repent more and to obey God's commandments.
Have we perverted the Lord's repentance message or the teaching of repentance by the traditional churches ? I hope that we will go back to the Bible, find out the true meaning of repentance, and repent !
