K020. Jesus is The Word in our hearts

No one can dispute against it because of what Jesus did and what is written in Heb 8:10, 10:16. According to Paul or the author of the Hebrews, Jesus is the law of the New Covenant in our hearts. Obviously we will still need to keep The Word (and His law). However, many will dispute against any need of God's law and argue that Jesus is the law that has kept all the laws for us so that we can have no more law to do anything or no more law of do's and don'ts, like the Ten Commandments.
I will tell them, Yes, we don't think of the Ten Commandments all the time; but we do think of the laws and commandments of God all the time. Why? Please think, What do we understand when we say to our wives, "We have you in our hearts and minds all the time"? Of course, it means that we think or dream of her all the time and we will think of doing things for her. Similarly, when we have the laws of God in our minds, we think of God and His laws too. We don't just think or dream like the 'zombies' without thinking of doing anything for God.
Please think, What will your wife say if you said to her that you would only think of her, without the need of doing anything for her? She will say, You are crazy. Hence, when we say that we want people to think of God or God's laws only, without the need of doing anything for God, we are not only deceiving ourselves; we are deceiving others.

Many argued that keeping the words or the laws of God in our hearts or minds is the old way or the old covenant. They said that we do not keep any law or word of Christ because Jesus had told us that, if we broke one law, we broke all the law, and therefore, we do not keep any law, especially the law of the do's and don'ts, like the Ten Commandments. I will ask them, Did Jesus really say that, or only you said it? Please think again, Will your wife say that it is ok for you to just do nothing because you can't even keep one promise - the promise of giving her a diamond ring, and therefore, you do not need to keep the rest of your promises, like buying flowers for her on her birthday, helping her to do houseworks, taking care of her when she needed you the most, and whatever you say during your marriage vow? Yes, we don't need to think of our marriage vow all the time, but that does not mean that the vow, like the covenant, is obsolete. The vow is still the basis of doing all the things which show how much we will still honour the vow. Similarly, we don't need to think of the Ten Commandments today; but that does not mean that the commandments are obsolete. Of course, we don't just think of doing only 1 commandment or 10 commandments; but we do think of doing all the commandments now. We don't think of only 1 vow or 10 vows in our marriage vow too; we think of doing all the things in the vow too.

The marriage vow is like a covenant between two parties. It is a vow which is forever unless one of the party dies and the other remaining party marries someone else with the new vow. However, will the new vow have no more promises, conditions, or laws which had been used in the old vow, like "I shalt love him/her  .. and till death do we depart .. ". Of course, the words or the number of things specified in both the new and old vows may not be exactly the same, but they are generally the same. The thing that is changed or might not apply any more is rare, but in some cases, it could be the detailed terms or conditions on the possession of the house, the house key, the pets, the bank savings, the company assets, the intellectual properties, and .. etc.
Similarly, when the Old Covenant between God and men is replaced by the New Covenant, there is still generally the same law (like the Ten Commandments which were given to the Israelites) too. The law that is no more valid is only the detailed law, regarding the running or keeping of the temple, Levites, sin offerings, the blood sacrifices, and ..  etc.
Hence, using the illustration and comparison of the marriage vows and covenants between the husband and the wife, we can say that the serpent or the false prophet will not tempt the sinners or the people who are not in any covenant relationship with God. The serpent will only tempt the churches or the brides like he is the only 'romeo' in the world or the more 'good looking' third party than God and His law. The serpent will tempt us to break the covenant and all the law in the new covenant with all kinds of suggestions, lawless philosophies, and strange love for the things of the world ..
