Joh 5:14 KJV Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Joh 8:11 KJV She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
When Jesus said 'sin no more', He meant 'sin no more' (He meant it) and He would still say it to all sinners today.
Do we preach 'no more sin' or 'sin no more' ?
Yet,
many sinners or 'preachers of the sinners' today still argue and say,
"No, Jesus would never say it to us; He would say 'No more sin'. Hence,
we should just preach 'no more sin' to all our sinners. If we preach
this to them, more sinners will come to Jesus (us) .. and we will
prosper .."
I will tell the preachers, I am not bothered if the
sinners ignorantly deny what Jesus said or what we preach. But, if you
are a preacher, you ought to know the Lord's command and preach it
correctly. What does 'sin no more' mean? It means a command to repent
and turn from sin. If Jesus has commanded all His disciples to preach
repentance, you have no excuse to preach any way you like.
Jesus will still say 'sin no more' today
Many
will still argue, "But we are not the sinners anymore. We have been
made righteous with no more sin. Hence, we preach 'no more sin'; not
'sin no more'. When the people have 'no more sin', they will just 'sin
no more'. We don't need to preach any command of the Lord to sin no
more. We just preach grace, and grace will lead to repentance without
the word or command of the Lord."
I will ask them, What kind of grace
is that when it is preached without the Lord's command to repent or sin
no more? Yes, you may preach grace but it is not the grace that Jesus
preached? When Jesus showed His grace (goodness or forgiveness) to the
woman, Did He say, "Woman, hath no man condemned thee? You have been
made righteous. Go home, and enjoy". No, He said, "Woman, hath no man
condemned thee? .. GO AND SIN NO MORE". What does 'sin no more' mean? It
is a command to sin no more ! It is not just an option to change your
mind, think no more of sin, or think righteous; it is a God's command to
turn away from sin and walk no more in it. We can never get it wrong
because Jesus explained it after He said 'sin no more':
Joh 8:11-12
KJV She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I
condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (12) Then spake Jesus again unto
them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
We may show grace first, but we must still preach repentance
They
will still argue, "Ok, we get the message. Ok, we know what Jesus
meant. When Jesus said 'sin no more' to the woman, He meant 'turn away
from sin'; not just change her mind or think no more of sin. But, we do
not tell people to sin no more today, or else people will all run away.
We should just preach 'no more sin' instead. When the people heard 'no
more sin', naturally they will sin no more. We tell them grace, and
naturally grace will lead them to repentance. This is still the greatest
truth. That's why Jesus did not tell the woman to sin no more first;
instead He gave her grace, and grace led her to repentance. We should do
the same too."
I will tell them, Do you really think that we should
preach like Jesus by showing grace first? Yes, you are right: we must
show grace first. But have you forgotten that Jesus is grace?
Don't you agree that when we preach repentance in Him, we would have
already shown grace first? We would have shown them the grace to repent
in Jesus too. Hence, if you really want to preach like Jesus, you must
still preach repentance (or 'sin no more') after showing them Jesus or
the grace to repent in Him.
Jesus shows grace to us; but He would still preach repentance to us
Many
still argue, "Yes, Jesus showed the woman grace and He would still tell
her to repent and sin no more. But He said that because she was a
sinner. Today all the sinners who believe and receive our gospel have
been made righteous. Therefore, we do not tell them to repent or sin no
more. 'Telling people repeatedly to sin no more' is not only a great
insult to God; it is condemnation to the people. It shows that we are
still doubting on God's righteousness or His grace which can make us
righteous."
I will tell them, Are you sure that this is what Jesus
said? Do you know that Jesus had told the churches and believers
repeatedly to sin no more? Jesus did not only show the sinners (the
impotent man in Joh 5:14 or the woman in Joh 8:11) grace and tell them
to sin no more, He did warn the BELIEVERS (not just few believers but
many) to sin no more too:
Rev 2:5 KJV Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent,
and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will
remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Rev 2:16 KJV Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Rev 2:21 KJV And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
Rev 2:22 KJV Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
Rev 3:3 KJV Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Rev 3:19 KJV As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Jesus
did not tell the sinners in the world to repent; He told the believers
in the CHURCHES to repent. He reminded them how they had believed,
followed, and obeyed Him. He had shown them much grace; but He would
still tell most of the churches repeatedly to repent and sin no more
(even after they have believed in the knowledge of His word, received
grace, became 'righteous', and done 'some' of His works).
The rise of the lukewarm churches will bring subtle lawlessness in the end time
Today
there are still many 'believers' in the churches who argue that we can
only tell them to change their minds; not to sin no more. They argue
that when Jesus told the seven churches to repent, He was just telling
them to change their minds because there was no more sin for them to
confess.
I will tell them, If Jesus would just want us to change our minds, He would not command us to DO HIS WORDS.
Jesus
prophesied and explained clearly that there will be three main types of
churches in the end time: the hot, the cold, and the lukewarm. They are
actually the true churches, the cult (false) churches, and the 'hot'
and 'cold' lukewarm churches. However, the Iukewarm churches will cause
more harm than the cult churches. It's because they can cause more
confusion in the last days. We can never tell if they are true or false,
but they will argue against the Word who tells them to sin no more.
Hence, the lukewarm churches could speak or argue more evasively than
the lawless sinners or false believers, and in the end they may even
argue more 'effectively' on behalf of the sinners. They may even speak
more 'graciously' to the people.
That's why Jesus must spue them out.
Many lukewarm preachers had said that there was no more law, no more
sin, no more repentance, no more work, no more judgement, and .. etc.
They may now change their minds and argue that they had never preached
it. However, they may now try to preach and define a different law (eg.
an effortless 'law'), a different confession (eg. their confession of
righteousness), a different repentance (eg. their change of mind), a
different work (eg. their boasting of a 'pure grace revolution'), a
different judgement (eg. their bayma seat of judgement with only
rewards) and .. etc. But by doing so, they do not really have the spirit
of repentance. Instead of repentance, they are still trying to justify
themselves with more and more of their perverted 'lawless' doctrine.
