K082. Jesus is the Word who came in the flesh (5)

This is the fifth time I write on the Word who came in the flesh. I cannot resist writing more about the Word after I read the following post on the Cross. So I will continue.

Yes, I agree with the writer below that the Cross is a picture of God's love and God's wrath. But I also saw a picture of death and life, a picture of repentance and grace, a picture of man to God and man to man, a picture of the law and the prophets (Mat 22:40), .. .. , and a picture of losing and gaining too (Mat 10:38-39).

Mat 22:38-40 KJV  This is the first and great commandment.  (39)  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  (40)  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (In the prophetic words of the Lord, the Two commandments or 十 is a clear pictorial summary of the Ten Commandments. In Chinese,  十 is also a word for 'ten'.)
Mat 10:38-42 KJV  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  (39)  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.  (40)  He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.  (41)  He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.  (42)  And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

The picture of the cross is the picture of God's commandments
That's why I said in K081 that the picture of the Cross is also a picture of God's commandments. That's why I can also say In K058 that something significant had taken place in the spirit realm too when the two olive trees in Rev 11:3-11 (who could be the law and the prophets) 'died' after 1260 days or 3 1/2 years of preaching in sackcloth (like Christ who died after preaching 3 1/2 years of repentance).

Hence, I did see the law and the prophets as a picture of the Cross because I saw how God gave His laws to men through the prophets, and how men obeyed God through the law. Hence, there is a unique and intricate relationship between men and God, God and the law, the law and the prophets, the prophets and men. This can only be depicted clearly in the picture of a Cross.

When Jesus was hung on the Cross, we know that there is a purpose in not only showing Him as the sacrifice who died on the cross; but also showing that the law and the prophets were on the Cross (or were the Cross). Did the two witnesses or olives trees in Rev 11:3-11 died as the law and prophets at the same time when Jesus was crucified ? I do not know. But what I can tell is that there is a great spiritual implication when Jesus met the law and the prophets represented or witnessed by Moses and Elijah. Something had happened in the spirit realm and only Jesus
and His three disciplesknew what had happened. No, correction, only Jesus can clearly know what had happened.

The picture of the cross is also the picture of victory over Satan
If the cross is the picture of God's commandments, it is also reasonable to think that the cross is the picture of victory over Satan. God's commandments are our weapon or sword against the devil:
Mat 4:4-11 KJV  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God ..(10) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.  (11)  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
Eph 6:17 KJV  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Rev 1:16 KJV  And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

When the cross was erected on Golgotha (skull), it was again the 'picture' of God's commandments or the sword hurting the 'head' of Satan, but the devil can only hurt the feet (and the hands) of Jesus Christ:
Joh 19:17 KJV  And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
Gen 3:14-15 KJV  And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all ..  (15)  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

However, today we find that many people still want to 'fight' against the law and the authority of God's words. Probably they would just find something to fight so that they can fight against the words of God.  Probably they would raise up vain arguments to fight for their own rights when actually they just want to rebel against God.

Below is just one of the examples why people would like to fight for one another or fight for the women; but actually they could be fighting for lawlessness and confusion in the churches: see https://plus.google.com/103386467367636094616/posts/TarGmvxUQq3

1Co 14:33-37 KJV  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.  (34)  Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.  (35)  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.  (36)  What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?  (37)  If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
