I will ask them, If grace is Jesus, what is radical grace or hyper-grace ? If preaching grace is preaching Jesus, what do you preach when you preach radical grace or hyper-grace ? Will you preach a radical Jesus or hyper-Jesus too ? However, did Jesus say that He is grace or grace is Him ? I have only known that grace came from Jesus, that grace is a gift of God and it is a gift of God from the following Bible verses:
- Joh 1:17 KJV For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
I will then ask them, If this is your intention, why do you insist that we must preach radical grace ? Why can't we just preach grace or preach repentance ?
Once we start to ask more and more questions, we will know why they would only want to preach radical grace. They do not want to preach grace or repentance; they want to preach radical grace or a radical Jesus. When the people believe in a radical Jesus, they cannot believe in sound doctrine. When they cannot believe in sound doctrine, they would become radically confused in their radical understanding of their mind-changing philosophy, repentance, turning from sins, obedience, and God's commandments.
Do we need to teach grace or hyper-grace ?
Dr Michael Brown could have seen the same problem from radical grace or hyper-grace teaching when he shared about his concern with the churches:

http://www.charismanews.com/opinion/38394-hyper-grace-horror-stories
Although he did quite a comprehensive and reasonable analysis on the teaching of hyper-grace, he did not receive any positive comments from the radical grace or hyper-grace believers. It's because the radical grace people can never give up their belief in radical grace and go for just the grace of God. Unconsciously they could have settled in their mind that they could not be saved adequately or prospered enough under the grace of God. However, they have forgotten why Paul would say that the grace of God is sufficient for all his circumstances:
- 2Co 12:5-11 KJV Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. (6) For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. (7) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. (8) For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. (9) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. (11) I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.
Can we receive grace without knowing or preaching how to receive grace ?
I will tell the grace preachers or radical grace preachers, You have been preaching about grace or radical grace, but have you ever tell the sinners how to receive grace?
Radical grace preachers will say, "Oh, I thought grace is free. It is given without us doing anything. All the sinners will receive grace and favours effortlessly if they believe in Jesus. So, why do you still ask people to do many things to receive grace ? All we need to do is just hear, think, confess, and believe in Jesus or Grace. We will just need to hear and believe only, and grace will just come automatically and effortlessly without us doing anything. Do you know the finished work of Jesus? If you must do, do nothing ! However, doing repentance was an old doctrine. Under the Old Testament until the time of John the Baptist, people were told to repent or do repentance. But under the New Covenant, things have changed. We have found a better covenant ie. the covenant of grace. We just think of grace, preach grace, confess grace, and believe grace. We should preach 'doing nothing' as grace or God's doctrine for our life; not any law or repentance which are difficult for our life.""
I will tell them, Do you agree that the finished work of Jesus is the beginning of our work too? If you read the Bible, you will know that all the sinners have been taught on how to receive grace. The only way to receive grace according to the words of the Lord in the Bible is - Repentance and the works meet for repentance. It must be sincere repentance with fruits worthy of repentance (Mat 3:8, Luk 3:8). Without repentance, no one can see God and come to God for grace. That's why Jesus and all His disciples would not just preach grace or just the name of Jesus; they preached repentance in the name of Jesus. They preached about how to receive grace (or repentance) in the name of Jesus. Hence, preaching of grace without preaching of how to receive grace (or repentance) will not lead the sinners to the grace of Jesus Christ under His covenant. It may lead to vain and complicated mind changing philosophy or Old Testament favours; however, it will never lead to God's grace under the New Covenant through the simplicity and preaching of Jesus Christ.
- Mat 4:17 KJV From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- Luk 5:32 KJV I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- Luk 24:45-47 KJV Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, (46) And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: (47) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Can we come to God in any way we like, by just thinking of radical grace
They say, "We can enter God's presence with boldness. If you were a son of the CEO or director of a large company, do you still need to seek for an appointment from the secretary to see your own father, like the other employees of the company ? No. Have you forgotten that you are his children, and you could just storm into his office through the door and jump on to his lap ? .."
I will ask them, Have you forgotten that you could have been married for a long time and you could have grown-up children too ? Would you close the door of your bathroom and make sure that your children do not see your nakedness ?
They will argue, "Of course, we don't let our children see our nakedness in the bathroom. But coming to God should not be compared to coming to our bathroom. Of course, we can come to God at any time and in whatever manner we like.."
I will tell them, Of course, we cannot compared it to coming to our bathroom; neither can we compared it to coming to our office too ! The question of whether we can come to God like our son coming to our office or coming to our bathroom cannot be based on what we think about it. We have to know what God said about it:
- Luk 18:10-14 KJV Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. (11) The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. (12) I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. (13) And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. (14) I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
- Act 3:19-20 KJV Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; (20) And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
- Act 8:21-22 KJV Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. (22) Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
- Act 17:30 KJV And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
- Act 26:20 KJV But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Radical grace could have been preached like a personality cult
I normally don't comment on how a preacher behaves or dressed. I always comment and talk about their doctrines and what they preached. However, sometimes how they behaved and dressed could give the young believers the wrong impression about what they preached. Hence, if radical grace is preached with heavy dependence on the sight, sound, lightings to appeal to people, something is not right. Some preachers are so insecure that they would create a sense of importance around them in order to impress the people. They would divide themselves from the people with many security guards, assistants, or “armor bearers” rather than building genuine relationships with their church members. They think that church is all about their stage performance, so they rely on sight, sound, theatrics, clothes, and a grand entrance to impress the crowd rather than just being normal, humble, and accessible servants. They could have preached radical grace as their personality cult rather than Jesus. Hence, radical grace is not always grace, so is ..
an iphone 4s which is not an iphone !
The worst sin against the words of God is not men's lawless deeds or selfish acts against others; but doctrinal hypocrisy or counterfeit teaching against His words and commandments
Hence, while many radical grace or hyper grace preachers can preach grace radically or beautifully, they cannot hide their hidden problem with the teaching and doctrine of Christ forever. While they can deceive some people for some time, they can never fool everyone forever. While they can teach some of the words of God convincingly, but they cannot do and teach the laws or commandments of God with the same conviction found in the hearts of the Apostles and disciples of Jesus Christ. While they can hide their lawless conviction very well, by teaching their man-made tips, instructions, and wisdom, in their marriage seminars or children camps on how to love their wives, children, girl friends, and boy friends, they cannot hide the pride and boasting of their lawless philosophy against the law and commandments of God. Yes, they may boast to have more gracious 'rules, advices, or do's and don'ts' for their believers and claim that they can teach better than the laws and commandments of God. However, unknown to many, they are hypocrites who hate the law of God and falsely accuse others who do and teach the words of God. If Jesus did not approve the hypocrisy of the Pharisees who made the commandments of God of none effect with their false and 'hyper' law teaching, neither will He keep quiet and say nothing to those who made His commandments of none effect with their false and 'hyper' grace teaching too:
- Mat 15:5-7 KJV But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; (6) And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. (7) Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
- Mar 7:12-15 KJV And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; (13) Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. (14) And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: (15) There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
- Luk 12:1-2 KJV In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. (2) For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
- 1Ti 4:1-2 KJV Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (2) Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
