Are there fruits of false prophets?

Are there 'fruits' of false prophets?
Yes, certainly. But they are certainly not the fruits of Christ. If Jesus told us that, by their fruits, you shall know them, you can rest assured that there are fruits of false prophets. What are the fruits of a false prophet?

a. The fruits of the false prophets are clearly mentioned by Jesus in His sermon on the mount:
  • Mat 7:15-24 KJV  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  (16)  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?  (17)  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  (18)  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  (19)  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  (20)  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.  (21)  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  (22)  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  (23)  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (lawlessness).  (24)  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
The Bible verses above show very clearly that one of the fruits of the false prophets is that: they don't do and teach, or they may teach; but they don't do. They teach sinking sand; not the solid rock. In another words, there is great discrepancy between what they preach and what they live. They preach humility; but when you look at their lives, they are not humble. They teach glorifying Jesus; but they are a shame to the churches before the the world and the non-believers. They teach sacrificing themselves for the sheep; but they prosper themselves through selling false beliefs and false peace to the believers through books, CDs, DVDs, TV subscription, donations, .. etc. Some may even go as far as 'selling' the holy communion or anointing oil like it is a 'snake oil' cure for all sickness, guilts, condemnation of sins, financial problems, and depression.  No wonder, they can boast that they can prosper better than God's preachers. I will tell them, Yes, God's preachers are poorer; that's because their books on sound doctrine and principles are not very appealing to the majority of the people in the world who are lawless in nature.

The fruits of the false prophets are fruits of lawlessness; but they are not necessarily violence and lawless deeds
Many boast that they are the 'donkeys' who carry Jesus or bring Jesus to the people; but in reality, they are the 'talking asses' who carry Balaam and walk in his corrupted way (2Pe 2:14-19). They could be worst than the Pharisees who were lawless in their hearts; but not necessarily violent and barbaric. Hence, I believe that, that is why: many false prophets may profess that they know Christ; but Christ would profess that He never know them. Jesus said that their fruits are not from Him; but from lawlessness. It means that they do not do or could not do and teach the words of God like God's people, or like the light of the world.

b. The light which will expose is also clearly mentioned by Jesus in His sermon on the mount too
  • Mat 5:11-19 KJV  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.  (12)  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.  (13)  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.  (14)  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  (15)  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  (16)  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.  (17)  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.  (18)  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.  (19)  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Now we know why the false prophets are so afraid of the Lord's sermon on the mount or why they would argue vehemently that the Lord's sermon is obsolete; they are afraid of the words of the Lord. The Lord's sermon on the mount is like a light on the mount. It will expose them, convict them, judge them, and cut all their false doctrine into pieces.

Hence, the fruits of false prophets are not necessarily the crimes or lawless deeds. It could be anything which works lawlessness or multiplies lawlessness. It could be any preaching, teaching, belief, or philosophy which will increase the number of lawless people in the world:
  • Mat 24:11-12 KJV  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  (12)  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
  • Mat 24:11-12 LITV  And many false prophets will be raised and will cause many to err.  (12)  And because lawlessness shall have been multiplied, the love of the many will grow cold.
