1. Walking with Jesus
Is it just to believe in Him or keep our eyes on Him? Yes and no ! Yes, because we need to focus on Him But No, because He did not tell us just to do that; He told us to do His words also. In fact, He commanded us to do so. Hence, I will ask the preachers, How can we just preach 'believe in Him only' ? How can we tell people to just keep their eyes on Jesus only when Jesus told us clearly to do more than that in many of His teaching? If we think that it is enough just to preach believe His words only, hear His words only, or confess His words only, we have not obeyed His command and teaching:
- Luk 8:11-15 KJV Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. (12) Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. (13) They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.(14) And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. (15) But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
- Luk 8:21 KJV And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
- Mat 7:15-27 KJV Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (16) Ye shall know them by their fruits. .. (20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (24) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: (25) And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. (26) And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: (27) And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
- Luk 6:46-48 KJV And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (47) Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: (48) He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood (false doctrine) arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. (Hence, Jesus said clearly that He would not just want us to have right believing, right faith, right miracles, right preaching, or right confession only; he wants us to have right doing with His words too, because right doing would prove that we are His true disciples on the rock of salvation.)
- Rev 22:14 KJV Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Hence, I will tell them, Yes, I will keep my eyes on Jesus; but only on the Jesus who has God's commandments, not on the false 'Jesus' who teaches lawlessness or no God's commandments. The true Jesus will never teach us to believe only, hear only, or confess only. He always preached hear AND do ! If we want to walk with Christ, we must keep His commandments (Please see "We do not preach only looking or hearing Jesus; we preach doing the will and the words of God too" in my previous post.):
- 1Jn 2:3-7 KJV And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. (4) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (5) But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. (6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. (7) Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
2. Preaching the name of Jesus does not necessarily guarantee they are Jesus' preachersRadical grace preachers will say, "We have always preached the true Jesus. In fact, we have preaching Jesus and used the name of Jesus more than any law preachers or repentance preachers. We always glorify Jesus. We have Jesus in our heart. We know the beauty of Jesus. We know the power of Jesus' blood. We are Jesus' preachers .."
I will tell them, If you are truly Jesus' preachers, you would preach everything Jesus preached including His commandments and warnings.
- Mat 28:18-20 KJV And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Do you know one of His commandments is to do God's commandments? How can you preach hear only or believe only when Jesus has specified clearly that hearing only and believing only is not enough:
That's why I strongly believe that not every preacher or believer who claims that he preaches Jesus or the words of Jesus is a true preacher:
- Mat 7:15-27 KJV Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (16) Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? (17) Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. (18) A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (19) Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
3. 'Good intention' without God's commandment is 'no good' in the eyes of the Lord
They will argue, "We are under grace now. So, we don't teach everything that Jesus taught when He was under the law. We preach the gospel according to the grace doctrine of Paul. We preach the gospel of Paul. We preach grace. Grace will not have so many God's commandments. It is easier for the sinners to follow Jesus by grace than by law.. We have good intention.. We are not like the Pharisees who would give many laws .. "
I will tell them, You probably have good intention, but good intention is not what Jesus preached. Good intention cannot lead people to salvation. If it is preached knowingly or unknowingly to remove God’s
command and repentance,
it has no life:
Mat 19:16-17
KJV And,
behold, one came and said unto him, Good
Master, what good
thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
(17) And he said unto him, Why callest
thou me good?
there is none good
but one, that is, God:
but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the
commandments.
In another words, 'no God's command' means 'no good'. The serpent had probably argued that he had the good intention for Adam and Eve too, but he was the biggest liar when he took away God's command. Hence, I will never believe the preachers who keep boasting about their good intention but secretly they would try to persuade the people to obey no laws; but only their 'laws', or their own teaching. They are not different from the Pharisees who created their own laws through their tradition, but they may now do it through their revolution or 'radical grace' confusion; it is still an abomination in the eyes of the Lord:
- Mar 7:11-13 KJV But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free. (12) And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; (13) Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
- Mat 15:5-9 KJV But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; (6) And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. (7) Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, (8) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. (9) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
- Pro 20:5-11 KJV (5) Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out. (6) Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? (7) The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. (8) A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes. (9) Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? (10) Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD. (11) Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
Proclaiming God's goodness to us or our own goodness is not enough. God is looking for men of faithfulness and integrity. Who is faithful and pure ? It is he who knows God and God's commandment in his heart. It is he who take the counsel of men and judge it with God's word and commandment. I have known many radical grace preachers who could preach God's word from the book of Proverb many years ago. But when they started to preach radical grace, they could never preach from Proverb with good conviction anymore. Why? It is because, in Proverb, they have found that they need to accommodate too many God's laws and commandments. It sounded like preaching psychologies, self-efforts, and good works when they tried to preach it under their own radical grace philosophies. It is no longer the pure word or the pure commandment of God.
4. A good disciple can never outshine his master
Hence, I am still doubtful about the preachers who boast that they would preach only the gospel of pure grace, the gospel of radical grace, or the gospel of Paul. I will ask them, Are you preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ or the gospel of Paul? If you preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, you must preach repentance and God's commandments. It's because Jesus has always told His disciples to preach repentance and asked them to keep God's commandments.
Luk 6:39-40 KJV And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? (40) The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
I will tell tell them, Yes,you may be able to convince the people that your preaching of radical grace or lawless doctrine is better than the preaching of Jesus. But you have probably lied to the people by saying that Jesus was under the law and that all His teaching in the gospels are not applicable to us but to the Jews only. You may think that you can preach better than Jesus because you have more people coming to you. However, you have probably quoted the following Bible verses out of its context and said that "since no one can keep God's law, no one will need to keep His law":- Mat 5:1-29 KJV And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: (2) And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
.. (19) Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (20) For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven... (28) But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. (29) And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Jesus did not say that we should be as righteous as the Pharisees, but He said we should be more righteous than the Pharisees who were hypocrites. In another words, 1. All the Jews must still repent even though they thought that they were as righteous as the Pharisees, 2. All of us, who are now in Christ should never follow the deceivableness of unrighteousness (2Th 2:10) that is in the Pharisees or hypocrites too.)
5. A good disciple knows how to interpret his master's teaching correctly
I will tell them, If your interpretation that "the Lord's teaching has become obsolete like the law" is true, you could be the next greatest preacher in the world. But if it is not true, you would be the next greatest liar in the last days. You could have disobeyed the Lord and preached your own gospel when the Lord had said clearly that His commands and teaching can never be obsolete:- Mat 28:18-20 KJV And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
- it is not a challenge just to the Pharisees only - it is a challenge to every sinner, including the Pharisees and those who think that they were righteous and would not want to repent
- it is not a challenge to show everyone that they do not need to keep any laws; but rather a challenge to show everyone that they need to repent. Why do I think so? Please think, Does it make sense to challenge the thieves not to keep any laws just because they cannot stop stealing ? Of course, it would be ridiculous to tell the people not to keep any laws just because they cannot stop from being greedy, lustful, or proud too. Hence, I tend to believe that Mat 5:28 has been quoted out of its context when the radical grace preachers always use it conveniently to tell the people not to keep any laws. It is ridiculous to tell people that since no one can keep the laws, no one should keep the laws. This is a lie. It is like telling the drug addicts,"Since none of you can stop taking drugs, there is no law against drug addiction."; or telling the gamblers, "Since none of you can stop gambling, there is no law against gambling"; or telling the serial killers, "Since none of you can stop killing, there is no more law for any killings.." Of course, this is ridiculous. That' why John the Baptist would ask the people (Luk 3:10-11), the publicans (Luk 3:12-13), and the soldiers (Luk 3:14) to repent. He did not tell them, "Since none of you can stop sinning, there is no more law against you or against your sinning".
Hence, we know that Jesus would call all the Jews and Gentiles, including the Pharisees and scribes, to repentance, no matter how righteous they might think they were. He later confirmed it by teaching all the people (including His disciples) to confess their sins and commanded them to preach repentance too:
- Luk 11:2-4 KJV And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. (3) Give us day by day our daily bread. (4) And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
- Mar 6:7-12 KJV And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; .. (12) And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
- Luk 24:47-48 KJV And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (48) And ye are witnesses of these things.
6. However, a 'lawless' disciple will interpret all the Lord's repentance teaching as lawless doctrine
He will also interpret all the Lord's commands to do God's commandments as hardsayings for the Jews, for the Pharisees, for the sinners, for the unrighteous, and for all other people, except for himself. Hence, I don't think he can argue convincingly that God has put His laws in his heart or mind, and that he has high regard for God's laws:
- when he cannot see any God's laws in the teaching of Jesus or His sermon on the mount
- when he considered the Lord's teaching on God's laws and commandments as hardsayings for all others except himself, or
- when he painstakingly removed all God's laws from the Bible in the name of 'grace', 'radical grace', or 'grace revolution'.
Hence, I would have great doubts if he is still under God's covenant; he could have pushed himself out of God's covenant by thinking of it lawlessly, graciously, deceitfully, deliberately, knowingly, or unknowingly. Yes, he may be able to deceive many ignorant sinners that he could meditate or keep God's laws 'evasively', but, he can never convince God, God's people, and even himself, that he is under God's covenant, unless he has clear conviction to teach and do all God's laws and commandments.
- Heb 10:16-17 KJV This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (17) And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
- Psa 119:9-16 KJV BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. (10) With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. (11) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (12) Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. (13) With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. (14) I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. (15) I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. (16) I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Amen.
Today it is easy to know who are the lawless sinners; but not so easy if we need to discern those who are the 'lawless' preachers or 'lawless' disciples. Why? It is because lawless preachers may not do lawless deeds; they preach lawless doctrines instead. They may have hidden their lawless motives or lawless intentions very 'professionally, legally, spiritually, religiously, or biblically', like the Pharisees. They will continue to boast, contradict, and change the words and the commandments of Lord; however, no one can touch them because they have kept telling their followers that they are God's anointed ones, they are Jesus' preachers, and that they have high regard for God's word or God's law. The Lord has prophesied about these false prophets who will deceive the believers in the last days:
- See Mat 7:15-27 above - @ 2. Preaching the name of Jesus does not necessarily guarantee they are Jesus' preachers
- Mat 24:4-26 KJV (4) And Jesus answered and said unto them,
- .. (4) Take heed that no man deceive you. (5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. ..
- .. (11) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (15) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) ..
- .. (23) Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. (24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (25) Behold, I have told you before. (26) Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not..
The command of the Lord above is simple; yet it is important and crucial. It is because:
- He has mentioned about the coming of the false Christs at three different times in the same chapter. It means that they will surely come like 'waves' in the last days. They can deceive many believers, not just because they have supernatural power or deceiving power, but because they will always come in His name, saying, "I am Christ", "I am the anointed one", or "I am as anointed as Christ".
- He commanded us to remember this warning because He reminded us in verse (25) that he had said so - "Behold, I have told you
before". This would prove to the radical grace preachers that Jesus warning is not just for His twelve disciples only but for all the end time believers too. He told us about the end time event and wants us to remember His word and command when we see the fulfilment of His prophecy.
- He did not just say once or twice about the coming of the false prophets; He said, "Many shall come..", "Many false prophets shall come..", and "if any man shall say..". Hence, he has warned us clearly that false prophets will not just come, but they will come in multitudes. Many will come and many will be deceived. If this is true, this should be serious enough to wake up all the churches in the last days. Only the churches who are 'sleeping' or blinded will still preach rest and comfort when most of their pulpits have been infiltrated by the 'abomination of desolation' or when their preachers have been controlled or taken over by the 'Lawless One'. (I've written something about the abomination of desolation but I've forgotten where I've put it)
- He has prophesied about the coming of the false Christs accurately when many preachers have started to claim that they had come in the name of Christ or that they are as anointed as Christ (as He is, so are we?). The interpretation of the word 'Christ' may not be always 'Jesus Christ'; it could mean 'the Anointed' or 'the anointed ones'. We can now see and hear from many 'anointed ones' in the internet or social media from anywhere or any place, whether we are in our room, in our secret chamber, or in our privacy. Some of them are more anointed in 'miracles'; others are more anointed in the 'words', but all of them are not the true Anointed Christ. They have boasted and taken over as the Anointed one knowingly or unknowingly but they would still keep deceiving others and argue that they are very humble because they have always preached Jesus, followed Jesus, or obeyed Jesus commandments. They could be great liars who have denied Jesus Christ in their thoughts, in their words, and in their boastings; or in doctrine and preaching.
- He commanded us to believe it not. In another words, Jesus told us not to trust the words of any preachers who claim to have the same anointing or same wisdom as Christ, no matter how they explain, argue, preach, testify, or promote themselves, in the name of Lord. Jesus did not confirm it just once, but twice, with a short but clear command, "Believe it not". It is a command to obey without question.
- He will judge the lawless preachers more severely than the lawless sinners. Why? A lawless sinner will sin, refuse to repent, and still perish himself. A lawless preacher, who may not commit any serious crime, will also sin, refuse to repent, and perish, but he will do one more thing sin: - multiplying more lawless sinners with his lawless doctrine. Mat 7:22-23 LITV Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power? (23) And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!"
Many of them will argue, "Lord, why should I perish if I have never done any lawless deeds like the lawless sinners or I am more righteous than them in thoughts and deeds. How can you judge me if I have professed and preached your name every Sunday and never sinned beyond the lawless sinners ? " However, Jesus will still judge them: Luk 13:2-6 LITV And answering, Jesus said to them, Do you think that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans, because they suffered such things? (3) No, I say to you, But if you do not repent, you will all perish likewise. (4) Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, do you think that these were sinners beyond all men who lived in Jerusalem? (5) No, I say to you, But if you do not repent, you will all perish likewise. (6) And He spoke this parable: A certain one had planted a fig tree in his vineyard. And he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any... - He will judge the main Lawless One more severely than any other being in the world. Why do I say this ? Please read Genesis 3 again:
Gen 3:4-5 KJV And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil ... In the garden of Eden, only men were given a second chance in the future generations. They will still live if they will repent and allow God's laws and commandments to live in their minds and their hearts through rebirth and regeneration. But the lawless one has become the enemy of God forever.
7. A good servant will always humble himself before God
Some will argue, "We are not against discipleship or servanthood, but we must know how much is the love of God. God's love for us is too good to be true. He loves us so much that He wants all of us to be like Him, like Christ, or like gods. His favour is so great that we can prosper and do many things effortlessly. Have you seen the fathers who carried their children on their shoulders in football match. Our God is like our fathers who love us and who carry us on their shoulders, so that we will be taller than them, and we will see further and clearer. We would become supernatural when we are soaked under His love. We will prosper. We will never fall. However, those who always fear God, bow their heads low, and become too afraid to look up to God would miss this supernatural blessing.."I will tell them, Yes, God's love is like your father's love but God is not human. He is the creator; we are His creation. He is God, we are not God. He can do all things (He is omnipotent), we cannot do all thing (we can do all things in Christ does not mean that we are omnipotent). When God carries us on His shoulders, He is still higher than us; when our fathers carry us on their shoulder, we could be the tallest amongst the crowd .... I am just showing to all of us that, no matter how much we are exalted by the Lord, we are still human. We should have the right, humble, and realistic assessment of ourselves. If we become radical in our thinking or in our boasting, we may fall like Lucifer:
Isa 14:10-15 KJV All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? (11) Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. (12) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (13) For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: (14) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. (15) Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
8. A good servant will obey his master's command
I have heard many radical grace preachers who question about the need of God's laws and commandments in Christianity. I will ask them, Is obedience to God needed in Christianity? They will say, "Of course, we are not against obedience... but we are called to walk by faith; not by obedience.. Obedience is not the root but a fruit. Hence, we should be focused on the root which is faith. If we have faith, we will have obedience automatically.. we don't have to preach or tell people to obey God or obey God's laws.."
I will tell them, Can you remember how you had preached to the people that they would only need the God's given faith too? When you preached that you do not need to walk by obedience or by faith, but only by 'God's given faith', you are preaching or teaching no doctrine in the end. Have you studied the Bible correctly? Please be honest, Isn't Paul teaching us to walk by obedience according to God's doctrine in the following Bible verses:
Rom 6:16-18 KJV Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? (17) But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. (18) Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
I will ask them again, If obedience to God is needed in Christianity, wouldn't it be strange to obey God without knowing what is obedience to God's word, God's law, or God's commandment? I know that you like to tell people to repent from nothing or repent for the sake of repenting, but it is equally absurd to tell people to obey nothing or obey for the sake of obeying too. If we obey God, we know what to obey, what He has commanded us to do or not to do, why He has commanded us to do so, and how we should listen to Him based on His WRITTEN WORD.
- Mat 4:3-11 KJV And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (4) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (5) Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, (6) And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (7) Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (8) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; (9) And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. (10) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (11) Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
- 2Co 11:2-6 KJV For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. (3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (4) For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (5) For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles. (6) But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.
Now, most radical grace preachers will start to preach about obedience to God too. But I wonder, What kind of obedience is it? Is it obedience to their radical grace doctrine or the repackage of God's commandment under their 'radical grace' philosophies to give credit to themselves ?
Similarly, if we say that we walk with the Lord, we don't just walk with Him in our dreams or visions; we walk with Him because we listen to His words attentively, follow all His teaching, and obey all His commandments. Sadly, many believers think that walking with the Lord is just to think nothing about God's commandments but grace only. Some will try to justify themselves by obeying 'some' of the Lord's commandments. However, when the believers don't teach or think about God's commandments diligently, they will pay more attention to men's words, men's promises, men's laws, men's deception, and men's lies too.
- 2Pe 3:14-18 LITV Because of this, beloved, looking for these things, be diligent, spotless, and without blemish, to be found in peace by Him. (15) And think of the long-suffering of our Lord as salvation, as also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him; (16) as also in all his epistles, speaking in them concerning these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the unlearned and unsettled pervert, as also they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. (17) Then beloved, you knowing beforehand, watch lest being led away by the error of the lawless you fall from your own steadfastness. (18) But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
So, after knowing all the reasons why knowing God's commandment is still a very important part of our walk with the Lord, we should know why the false prophets would argue, debate, twist, quote, and rephrase all the word of God which has God's commandment. They know that as long as God's people still preach and teach God's commandment, they cannot win the world.
