I
have shown in my previous post K135 (1) why grace is the beginning of a
believer's faith journey to produce fruit with a simple 'flow chart'
like this:
Faith > grace > charity > work > obedience > fruit
Hence,
we can say that grace is a must in a believer's faith journey to
produce fruit too. However, for grace to take effect before it can
finally produce fruit in the life of a believer, it must have sin
conscience or sin consciousness.
Grace can take effect only when there is sin conscience
At
the end of my previous post K135 (1), I have shown clearly why the
Holy Spirit can reprove us of sin or make us feel sin conscious. Hence,
the Holy Spirit can bring sin conscience to anyone who sins in the WORLD
ie. anyone in the church, in the family, in the school, in the
community, in the company, in the country, or in the whole universe too.
The Holy Spirit can certainly bring sin conscience to anyone who sins
in the past, in the present, and in the future too. Please be honest and
ask ourselves, Which one of us (especially the self-righteous
'Christians') can be exempted from the conviction of the Holy Spirit?
Therefore, grace is given to every man, not to cover his sin conscience
(or to be ignorant of sin), but to know that he is a sinner, to repent,
and to turn away from sin if he still sins in present or future.
The
woman in the temple (in Joh 8:9-12) is the only person experienced the
grace of God in that scene, not because she denied all the law of God or
ignored all her sins; but because she knew the law of God and admit all
her sins more than any other men before the law of God, before God, and
before Jesus Christ:
Joh 8:7-12 KJV So when they continued asking
him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin
among you, let him first cast a stone at her. (8) And again he stooped
down, and wrote on the ground. (9) And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience,
went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and
Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. (10) When
Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said
unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned
thee? (11) She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do
I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (12) Then spake Jesus again unto
them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall
not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
We saw two types of sinners in the Bible verses above:
1. the Pharisees and the Jews (probably the whole audience in the temple) who departed from Jesus and
2. the woman who stayed with Jesus
All
the Pharisees and the Jews departed (quietly) because they refused to
confess or admit their sins, before God and Jesus Christ, even though
they had been convicted by their own conscience or sin conscience. They could not receive grace. However, the woman stayed, and hence she received and experienced grace !
Faith can take effect only when there is confession of sin
I
am not talking about confession of sin verbally. I believe that when
John mentioned about the confession of sin in 1 John 1:9, he was not
talking about just verbal confession of sin too. True confession of sin
is always a strong recognition, clear awareness, and the right response
to sin conscience. A believer who has truly repented must have the
strong conviction to know and admit that he is a sinner (like the woman
in Joh 8:9-12), that there is nothing he can do, and that he is so
helpless that he can only depend on grace. Hence, grace cannot take
effect when there is self-righteousness. Grace and self-righteousness
cannot co-exist. Many will ask, "How about Grace and sin conscience?" They may also ask, "How about Grace and law?
Can they co-exist?" I will explore on grace and law later. But now I
will say that, of course, grace and sin conscience can co-exist. It is
because when we know that we are sinners (like the woman in Joh 8:9-12)
and have sin conscience, we know that we need grace and we will repent.
If we experience grace, we will know our sin conscience, and we will
repent too.
But many try to 'dilute' repentance in the gospel by
saying that "to repent is to believe" or "to believe is to repent". I
will tell them, If you think that to repent is to believe only, please
do not repent. Very likely you will believe only, and you will go around
to criticise those who do more than believing only, and you will do
more harm than good in the end. Please read your Bible again, When Jesus
or Paul told the people to repent, they did not say "repent or
believe"; but "repent AND believe". It means that we need to do both:
Mar
1:14-15 KJV Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into
Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, (15) And saying,
The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
It
means that, only having repented, can we start to believe right (and to
have right believing in the doctrine or the gospel of Jesus Christ).
only having repented, can we start the process of faith in Christ to
produce the fruit in the life of a believer:
Faith > grace > charity > work > obedience > fruit
It
is impossible to have faith without true repentance in the name of
Jesus Christ. Except we repent, we can never know what is faith which
will produce the fruit.
Luk 13:5-9 KJV I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent,
ye shall all likewise perish. (6) He spake also this parable; A
certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and
sought fruit thereon, and found none. (7) Then said he unto the
dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit
on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the
ground? (8) And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this
year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: (9) And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
There is no 'stopping' (resting or doing nothing) in the doctrine of Christ
Hence,
we know that faith is a journey or process. It is not an end. Many will
ask, "How about obedience?" Of course, obedience, salvation, or
healing, is not an end too. In fact, Jesus has shown us clearly that we
must all continue to move on from where we have stopped or even where
we were healed or saved. We cannot stop, rest, and stay put on the same
spot forever. However, if we move on, we will do the will of God and we
will give glory to God ultimately. Of course, figuratively,
1. We should take up our bed and move on after we slept on it (or after we were healed):
Mat
9:6-8 KJV But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth
to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed,
and go unto thine house. (7) And he arose, and departed to his
house. (8) But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and
glorified God, which had given such power unto men. (See also Joh 5:8)
2. We should take up our cross
after we died on it. We must carry it along to know that we are dead to
sin in the world but alive in Christ: Mat 16:24-25 KJV Then said Jesus
unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (25) For
whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his
life for my sake shall find it.
3. We should take up the words and commandments of God
after we have obeyed. When we take up His commandments, we will
continue to keep and walk after His commandments: 2Jn 1:6-11 KJV And
this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the
commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk
in it. (7) For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess
not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an
antichrist. (8) Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things
which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. (9)
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath
not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both
the Father and the Son. (10) If there come any unto you, and bring
not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God
speed: (11) For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil
deeds.
The false prophets will reject the doctrine of Christ
So,
now we know what is the doctrine of Christ and what is not. We know
what is the will of God and what is not by reading the words of Christ
too. Contrary to what the false prophets said, 'doctrine' is not
something that makes the people stupid or legalistic; doctrine is simply
TEACHING which we must accept if it is from Christ. If we reject His
doctrine, we reject Christ. If we reject His doctrine we reject the
revolution of Jesus Christ too:
Mar 1:27 KJV And they were all
amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What
thing is this? what new doctrine is this? ..
Joh 7:16-17 KJV Jesus
answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
(17) If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine,
whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
Mar 12:38 KJV
And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love
to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
Mat
7:15-28 KJV Beware of false prophets .. (16) Ye shall know them by
their fruits .. (28) And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these
sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
The false
prophets may preach great revolution to ask the people to receive the
love of God or the grace of God too. But, if they preach grace to reject
the doctrine of Christ, they have rejected Christ. If they
deliberately or schemingly preached their 'effortless' doctrine to
replace the doctrine of Christ, they are not God's prophets. It is
because they can never do the will of God even though they may confess,
prophesy, preach, or do many things in the name of the Lord:
Mat
7:15-23 KJV Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (16) Ye shall know
them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of
thistles? .. (21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father
which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out
devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I
profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work
iniquity.
Now please think, If we are not saved by doctrine, can we
be saved if we reject the doctrine or commandments of Christ? No, if we
are not saved by doctrine, neither can we be saved if we reject His
doctrine or make ourselves ignorant of His doctrine too. Grace and the
doctrine of Christ are not mutually exclusive; they co-exist.
Can grace and law co-exist?
Many
will ask, "How about Grace and law? I think you have given us the idea
that grace and law can co-exist too. But, if Grace and
self-righteousness cannot co-exist, how can grace and law co-exist?"
I
will tell them, Yes, you are right. You have been given the idea that
grace and law can co-exist. But I am not the one who gave you that idea.
It was Jesus who showed it to you. Do you remember the woman who was
left alone with Jesus in the temple (Joh 8:9-12)? Yes, grace was there,
conviction was there (because the Pharisees and the Jews were convicted
by their own conscience). Hence, sin conscience was there, but do you
know that law was there also? If you believe that Jesus stooped down and
wrote the Ten Commandments on the ground (Joh 8:8) and convicted the
Jews, you would agree that the law of God was there (on the ground) too,
Jesus was there, grace was there; but self-righteousness was not there.
When the self-righteous Pharisees departed from Jesus,
self-righteousness departed from grace too. Hence, it showed us that:
1. grace and self-righteousness cannot co-exist; but
2. grace and law can certainly co-exist
Jesus
who gave grace had shown us that He would still write the law of God on
our hearts today. When the innocent, the humble, or the persecuted are
vindicated in the presence of grace and law of God today, the
self-righteous and the lawless cannot stay; they will leave too. But,
grace and law will always remain with us even after we are saved. Yes,
like the woman in the gospel of John, we have all gone through the
period of condemnation by our sins. After we have experienced the grace
of God, the law of God is not written on the ground now; it is written
on our hearts and minds now. Hence, grace and law will always remain in a
believer's life.
Heb 8:10-12 KJV For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws
into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a
God, and they shall be to me a people: (11) And they shall not teach
every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the
Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. (12) For I
will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their
iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 10:16-17 KJV This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (17) And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
There is always law and judgement irregardless of covenant of law or covenant of grace
Many
will still argue, "But we are under grace; not under the law. How can
grace and law co-exist. It is either this or that. If we are under
grace, we are no longer under the law. It means that we have no more
law; we have only grace .. and therefore, there is no more law and
judgement for us .."
Rom 6:14-15 KJV For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace ..
I
will tell them, Of course, you are not under the law of Moses or Old
Covenant to circumcise, offer sacrifices, and do the works of the law,
but are you under the traffic law to drive carefully? Of course, yes.
You are not under the law of Moses to go to the temple and observe the
law of Sabbath, but are you under the law of your country to serve your
National Service? Of course, if it is a compulsory duty for you to serve
your country under its law, you are under law of your country to fulfil
your duty. Of course, you are not under the law of Moses, but do you
know that you are still under the law of Christ or the law of God to
obey God, and to do and keep the words of God? So, if you say Yes and
you are truly under grace, you would never condemn or malice anyone who
still keep the law of God:
1Co 9:21 KJV To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
Hence,
I am under the law of Christ, how about you? Yes, I will not deny that I
am under grace too. But being under grace does not mean that we have no
more law or we are no longer subject to any law; being under grace
means that we do not live in self-righteousness or behave like the
Pharisees who used the law of Moses to justify themselves for their sins and hypocrisy.
Please
think, Does it make sense if we live under grace but we still behave
like the Pharisees or carnal believers? No. What happen if we still use the grace of Jesus Christ to justify ourselves to live in self-righteousness, in sins, or in carnal life? We are no difference from the Pharisees! We cannot please God.
Rom
8:6-8 KJV For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually
minded is life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Hebrew
10 had warned about the Jews or Pharisees who sinned under the law of
Moses. Hence, he would also warn the believers and those who sin under
the new covenant too. In fact, he said that we (not the Jews or the non-believers) could be more severely punished by a 'much sorer' punishment if we behave like the Pharisees or the hypocrites too. In another words, we
should never abuse the grace of God and use it to justify ourselves for
living in shameful life, wicked lies, self-righteousness, or hypocrisy
too:
Heb 10:16-30 KJV This is the covenant that .. I will put my laws into their hearts .. .. (26) For if we sin wilfully after that we
have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more
sacrifice for sins, (27) But a certain fearful looking for of judgment
and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. (28) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: (29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God,
and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was
sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of
grace? (30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto
me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
The
Bible said it very clearly: it was not a judgement or warning against
the world or the non-believers; it was a judgement for God's people (who
are under His covenant or under grace)
Ok, question, why would God judge His people?
Normally
true believers will not question God about His judgement. But I will
still answer the question. God would judge His people because some of
His people could be lukewarm believers, false believers, fallen
believers, carnal believers, boastful believers, or hypocritical
believers. I don' have time to describe each category of believers but I
will only list down the types of believers who are always mentioned in
the Bible, for example:
1. those who stressed that they preached the truth
and that they were bought by the Lord, but they preached against the
way of truth: 2Pe 2:1-3 KJV But there were false prophets also among
the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily
shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them,
and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2) And many shall
follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall
be evil spoken of. (3) And through covetousness shall they with
feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time
lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
2. those who confessed sin
but they did not really know what is repentance: Mat 3:6-8 KJV And
were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. (7) But when he
saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said
unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the
wrath to come? (8) Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
3. those who said sorry
but they did not really feel sorry. The Pharisee might do wicked things
and oppressed the poor but they would never feel sorry for what they
had done when coming to God: Luk 18:10-12 KJV Two men went up into the
temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. (11) The
Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I
am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as
this publican. (12) I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all
that I possess.
4. those who said they obeyed God but they did
not really obey. King Saul's answer to Samuel was an example of
hypocrisy and rebellion: 1Sa 15:22-23 KJV And Samuel said, Hath the
LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying
the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to
hearken than the fat of rams. (23) For rebellion is as the sin of
witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou
hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from
being king.
5. those who preached revolution but they did not
really have revolutionary change in their lives. They preached a false
'repentance' which told the people to change only their minds, but they
were afraid to preach repentance as a command to change their lives or
to change like Zacchaeus: Luk 19:8-10 KJV And Zacchaeus stood, and said
unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor;
and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I
restore him fourfold. (9) And Jesus said unto him, This day is
salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
(10) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was
lost.
6. those who said that they had high regard for God's laws
but they did not really do His laws: Mar 7:11-13 KJV But ye say, If a
man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a
gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
(12) And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his
mother; (13) Making the word of God of none effect through your
tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
7. those who boasted that they could run their churches to show more grace
but in reality they run their churches like business enterprise or
political revolution for profit and selfish desires: Rev 3:16-17 KJV So
then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue
thee out of my mouth. (17) Because thou sayest, I am rich, and
increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that
thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Hence,
the revolution of Jesus Christ is not to get grace and prosper; His
revolution is to do righteousness through faith and grace. If we put
faith or grace as an end and refuse to move on or refuse to think of it
as a journey of faith, we stop doing God's righteousness:
Faith > grace > charity > work > obedience > fruit
When
we stop doing God's righteousness, we will stop doing the work of faith
or bearing fruit too. Hence, any grace revolution is useless if it
stops at grace or if it is preached against the doctrine of Christ that
is based on faith to produce fruit.

K135. Why is charity and obedience to God's commandment the end of faith? (1)
Faith
must produce charity, and charity must produce works which show
obedience to God's commandments. If faith without work is dead, so is
charity:
1Co 13:1-13 KJV Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. (2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing .. (13) And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
faith or grace is not an end by itself
Many pondered, "Why did Paul say that the greatest is charity? Shouldn't faith or grace be the greatest because our salvation is based on faith and grace alone?"
I will say, Yes, our salvation is based on grace through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. But faith or grace is not the greatest until we see obedience to God's command and charity in the fulfilment of God's laws which is the end of all things:
1Sa 15:20-24 KJV And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. .. .. (22) And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (23) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. (24) And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
1Pe 1:4-10 KJV To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, (5) Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time .. (7) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (8) Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: (9) Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. (10) Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
1Ti 1:5-7 KJV Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: (6) From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; (7) Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
Rom 10:4 KJV For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Rom 13:8-14 KJV Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. (9) For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (10) Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. (11) And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. (12) The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. (13) Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. (14) But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
A New Testament believer today can still sin, and even become a false prophet like Saul
Did you read what Samuel said to Saul in 1Sa 15:23 above, when he said, ".. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king"?
When Saul disobeyed God's commandment, he was rebuked by Samuel and considered as having rejected the word of the Lord even Saul thought that he still had regard for God's commandments. Many hyper grace people may boast that they still keep the word of God and argue that they have 'high regard' for God's laws. But their disobedience or disregard of God's commandment shows clearly that they have not only rejected God's word; they have rejected God. If Samuel were still around today, he would still say the same thing to them even if they can argue like Saul and say that they have kept the word of the Lord. Many think that they can never sin if they are God's anointed one or God's favoured one. But if they disobeyed without doing the will of God, they have sinned like Saul, regardless of how much they could do, think, confess, or give thanks, to justify themselves. This warning is still applicable to us who are washed or bought by the blood of Jesus Christ under the New Covenant:
Mat 7:21-22 KJV Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
1Jn 3:3-4 LITV And everyone having this hope on Him purifies himself even as that One is pure. (4) Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
John defined sin as practicing or doing thing which is against the law or commandment of God. Hence, if we disobey God, we sin. No one can boast that they can never sin; but if we sin, God will still forgive us if we will confess it to God in repentance and humility (1 John 1:9). There is more grace given to us today when it is compared with Saul's time, but it does not mean that grace will exempt us from repentance and confessing our sins to God.
We will know the false prophets by their 'fruits' (by their false obedience)
As we move nearer and nearer to the end time, we begin to see more and more truth in the Bible verses above. Many false prophets can show or prove much faith, obedience, or 'fruit" in 'whatever' they believe in today. However, if king Saul could obey God wrongly and prophesy under the Old Covenant (1Sa 10:11, 18:10), the false prophets today can make the same mistake and prophesy under the New Covenant too. If the Pharisees would teach their 'corban' law (Mar 7:11) and doctrine under the Old Covenant to put the Jews under their bondages, the false prophets today can devise their own fantasy law, their own 'holy communion' law, their own tithing law, their own confession law, their own positive and effortless thinking, their own mind changing philosophy or false repentance, and their own promises under the New Covenant to put us under their bondages too. Hence, today we do not just believe in any preacher who has faith to prosper or heal (even if they claim that they can raise the dead and do many great miracles in His name); we should ask ourselves, What do they preach in His name? Do they really obey God in His name? How do they prosper with faith in His name? Why do they want to raise the dead and do many miracles in His name? Are they anointed to preach the revolution of Jesus Christ or their own revolution in His name? Or are they anointed just to live like the kings and princes in His name?
If they always argue and say, "Of course, we can always preach better than others in His name. It is because we are God's favourites, God beloved, and God's anointed. God would just want to prosper us and all the sinners, start the great revolution, and make all the churches jealous of us ..", very likely they cannot preach true repentance or true charity. Even if they insist that they can do some charity work or that they are very 'humble', they do it just to cover their wrong doctrine or wrong motives. Hence, they may argue vehemently that they have charity or humility in their speeches, but we know that they have no charity in their minds or motives.
Now please think, If they are false prophets because they did not do God's work with charity and integrity in their hearts or speeches, can they still be God's preachers if they would just want to preach their own law, their own doctrine, their own faith, their own philosophy, their own confession, their own revolution, or their rebellion and lawlessness? No, if they have no obedience, they are not God's preachers (even if they vehemently argue that they are the 'Anointed' or 'Christ' who come in His name, or repeatedly say ".. as Christ is so are we" or "as God is so are we", "as King Solomon is so are we", "as Joseph is so are we", "as prosperity is so are we" .. ):
Mat 24:4-26 KJV And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. (5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many .. (23) Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. (24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (25) Behold, I have told you before. (26) Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
What is the sequence or process of our obedience to God
If you have read the first few paragraphs of my post at the top, you will know that faith, grace, charity, work, and obedience are in the process or life journey of a true believer. Strictly speaking, we cannot omit or take away faith, grace, or any one of them from the life of a believer. They are not only necessary; they are connected and tied closely together and they follow the normal sequence of the process:
Faith > grace > charity > work > obedience
It should always start from faith and end up in obedience to God. Of course, there could be exception or variation. However, we can say that men will always start from faith in God, even if it is just a small little faith like that of a mustard seed. We can have faith before we can truly obey God. But faith must ultimately lead to obedience; or else it is not faith. It is also God's grace that we can start from faith because God knows our rebellion and sin condition. He knows that we are the sinners or fallen creature who may find difficulty in obeying Him perfectly and immediately. Hence, if we claim that we can jump to obedience immediately without faith, our obedience could be like the obedience of the Pharisees or king Saul which could be blind obedience, false obedience, self-interpreted obedience, or self-righteousness. King Saul did not have true faith in God; he had more faith in himself, in greed, or in men. He thought that he had obeyed God when he spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen for God (1Sa 15:15). Samuel had to tell king Saul bluntly that it was not obedience; it was his excuse to cover his hidden greed, his fear of men, or his rebellion.
Now when we have faith, we will have grace which is given to us before we can do anything. When we have faith and experience the grace of God, we will feel the love of God. We will feel like the woman in the Gospel:
Joh 8:11-12 KJV She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (12) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
When we feel the love of God, we will start to love, have charity, do the works of God, and obey God.
There must be fruits in the life of a believer
I must say that the works of God in the life of a true believer is not the works of the law of Moses or the law of the Pharisees. They are not self effort too. They are good efforts or good works which are necessary to show ultimate obedience to God. When men start to do the words of Christ and obey God through Christ, men will be once again reconciled to God, after being separated from God by Adam's disobedience. There will be fruits again in the garden of heaven:
Faith > grace > charity > work > obedience > fruits
Mat 7:19-20 KJV Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 13:7-9 KJV And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: (8) But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. (9) Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Mar 4:26-31 KJV And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; (27) And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. (28) For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. (29) But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. (30) And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? (31) It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
Joh 4:34-36 KJV Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. (35) Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. (36) And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
Joh 12:24-25 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (25) He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Joh 15:2-4 KJV Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (3) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me .. (8) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples .. (16) Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Rom 6:20-22 KJV For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. (21) What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. (22) But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Repentance will start the process of faith
Many still ask, "Yes, we can accept the process of faith to produce fruit. But where is repentance and born again in that process? I can't see any repentance in the picture."
I will tell them, Repentance is always there in the process of faith in every believer. The process of faith .. to obedience .. and to produce the fruits can only start after repentance and born again. Hence, a non-believer can never have or start the process of faith until they have repented. Repentance will keep that process on-going and running until there is fruit. Hence, repentance is still a live long experience in a believer's life.
Luk 13:5-9 KJV I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (6) He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. (7) Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? (8) And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: (9) And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
Luk 3:8-9 KJV Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. (9) And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Hence, Jesus came not only to bring life; He came to bring obedience and fruit to the life of a true believer too. Under the Old Testament, the Jews were taught to obey through the law or the works of the law.
Law > sacrifices > works (of law) > obedience
& circumcision
Rom 7:4 KJV Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Under the revolution of Jesus Christ, we start from repentance and faith without the law of Moses. But, ultimately, we must still have fruits and obedience to God's commandments (at the end of faith or grace):
Faith > grace > charity > work > obedience > fruits
This is why I said charity and obedience is at the end of faith and I believe that I have said enough to answer the question at the top: K135. Why is charity and obedience to God's commandment the end of faith?
There are two works and two laws under the covenants
I have shown you that there are works in the process of faith to produce obedience. The process of faith will work with grace and charity to produce works and obedience under the law of Christ. However, many hyper grace believers are confused that the works in the life of a believer are still the works of the law. But the Bible has shown us that there are not only two types of laws; but two types of works also:
1. Under the law of Moses, the works of the law are shown as sacrifices, circumcision, rituals of worship, and many temple rules.
Law > sacrifices > works (of law) > obedience
& circumcision
2. However, Under the law of Christ, the works of a New Covenant believer are works of faith according to the letter of James:
Faith > grace > charity > works (of faith) > obedience
Jas 2:17-21 KJV Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. (18) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (19) Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. (20) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? (21) Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? .. (26) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
James was probably challenging all the hyper grace believers to show their faith during his time.. and he would show them his works of faith .., and that would show who was really obedient to God ultimately.
Grace is given to the believers in the faith process to produce fruits
Hence, grace is in the process of faith to produce charity and obedience in the life of a believer. It is not just to clear sin conscience. However, many will argue, "If the main purpose of grace is not to clear our sin conscience, why did Paul say that we should have no more sin conscience under the New Covenant?"
Heb 10:1-4 KJV For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. (2) For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. (3) But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. (4) For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
I will tell them, Please read the above Bible verses again. The law above is the law of Moses; not the law of Christ. Hence, under the law of Christ, we have no more sin conscience to offer blood sacrifice. But it does not mean that we have no more sin conscience to repent under the New Covenant or under the law of Christ. Jesus has said it very clearly, Unless we repent, we cannot produce fruits through faith and obedience to His words. His words has clearly shown us that grace is given for repentance and bearing fruits:
Luk 13:5-10 KJV I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (10) And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
Hence, contrary to what most hyper grace preachers think or preach, Jesus would never tell us to preach grace as something to clear our sin conscience or cover our sin conscience. He wants us to preach grace to the sinners so that there is still sin conscience for them to repent.
Mat 11:20-22 KJV Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: (21) Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. (22) But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
Mar 6:10-12 KJV And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. (11) And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. (12) And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
Grace is given to the believers not to cover their sin conscience
I will ask the hyper grace people, Do you think that Jesus was telling the people to just change their minds and believe in Him (without turning away from sin) ?
1. No, if Jesus would just want them to believe, He would not use the example of the sin cities (Sodom and Gomorrha) to show them what the people of those cities would do if they repented (Mat 11:21 - ".. they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes").
2. That was the first reason why grace is not given to clear our sin conscience or cover our sin conscience. The second reason is found in the words spoken by Jesus again in the gospel of John:
Joh 16:8 KJV And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Joh 16:8 LITV And having come, that One will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.
What does it mean? It means that the world including the false churches and false believers will be reproved and convicted of sin. Many argue that they cannot be convicted of sin because they are the saints or true believers who has no more sin or sin conscience. But I will ask them, Are you so righteous or so 'destined to reign in this world' that you can never sin? Please be honest. We all can sin and do sin. Hence, we still need the reproof of the Holy Spirit when we are too blinded to see.
3. John confirmed the words of Jesus Christ again in:
1Jn 1:6-10 KJV If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: (7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (10) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Please count how many times John said 'If we ..' above? 5 times. Can we explain it away by twisting the words and lying that all the above Bible verses are not applicable to us? No, no one can claim that he can never sin and therefore he does not need to confess any sin.
4. One more reason why Jesus would still want us to remember that we are the sinners and that we must still know sin conscience (for true repentance and humility before God):
Luk 11:1-4 KJV And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. (2) And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. (3) Give us day by day our daily bread. (4) And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
Please think, If we pray and ask God to forgive us our sins everyday, will it remind us of our sins? Yes. Hence, it is scriptural for us, the sinners, to remember and know that we are still sinners who need God and the Holy Spirit to reprove us if we have sinned.
Can the Holy Spirit reprove us of sin or make us feel sin conscious?
Of course, yes, amen. Of course, when I say that, I do not need to stop whatever I do now and start to confess all my sins since my childbirth until now. The Bible or 1 John 1:9 has never taught us to confess our sins radically, blindly, foolishly, ritualistically, or meaninglessly. We do not confess like a stupid mad parrot which keeps repeating itself. We must confess with the heart to turn away from sin too. Those who say that the churches had taught them to confess like the mad parrot and therefore they can conclude that 1 John 1:9 is no longer applicable are ignorant. Obviously they do not know the teaching of the Bible and they would just exclude any Bible verses based on the foolishness of their minds or other's. Similarly, when they concluded that the Ten Commandments were obsolete just because they knew that the Pharisees who kept the Ten Commandments were hypocrites, they did not have high regard for God's words. Why? It is because I am not surprise to know that, when they find out that many preachers who study the Bible prophecies and warnings would criticise them, they will just say that all the Bible warnings are obsolete too.
I have heard of a false doctrine which has twisted the words of the Lord so much that many believers today thought that they could never sin or feel any sin conscience. In fact, the Pharisee liked to repent or confess without feeling any sin conscience too:
Mat 3:5-8 KJV Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, (6) And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. (7) But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? (8) Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Similarly, many people today would just want to say sorry without really feeling sorry too. Like so many modern day's happy hypocritical believers or positive carnal believers who argue that they have 'repented', they will just confess, "Sorry! I know that I have lied, cheated, or stolen from you. But there is NOTHING I can do even if I have slept with other women (or men) and sinned against you. If God can forgive me, you must forgive me too. Just forgive and forget, don't live in bitterness, and the peace of God will be with you."
Many still argue that the Holy Spirit can only convict them of righteousness; not sin. They argue that the Holy Spirit will convict the non-believers of sin; not the believers in their churches, because the Holy Spirit would divide His reproof to convict the believers of righteousness and prosperity only. Hence, they twisted and quoted the Bible verses by adding their own words or interpretation (with the brackets) in the words of God as follows:
Joh 16:8-11 KJV And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
(9) (reprove the sinners of the world) Of sin, because they believe not on me;
(10) (reprove the believers in the churches) Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
(11) (reprove the devils in hell) Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
They added those words in brackets to stress that the Holy Spirit can only reprove different parties of different things. However, we can see clearly from the original Bible text that Jesus referred to the reproof of the WHOLE world collectively (where there are the sinners, believers, churches, and devils); not separately or individually. Hence, the Holy Spirit can certainly reprove everyone IN THE WORLD regardless of whether they are the angels, kings, princes, saints, believers, sinners, or devils. The Holy Spirit can reprove them (everyone):
1. Of sin because they do not believe and obey the Son of God
2. Of righteousness because they see the Son of God being taken away from the world to the Father and they will know that Jesus is the ultimate righteousness of God
3. Of judgement because they will see the judgement of God on Satan and therefore they will know that God will judge the world too.
Hence, I think most hyper grace preachers today need to rewrite their books or re-invent their doctrines which deny the conviction of the Holy Spirit; otherwise they will always have problem debating and explaining how confession of sin or conviction of sin has become a 'wrong teaching' in most of the traditional churches today.
::
(9) (reprove the sinners of the world) Of sin, because they believe not on me;
(10) (reprove the believers in the churches) Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
(11) (reprove the devils in hell) Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

K134. We are under the law of Christ to do righteousness; not to earn righteousness
We
cannot earn righteousness, but we can do righteousness and must do
righteousness under the law of Christ. The Pharisees thought that they
could earn God's righteousness:
1. by just doing the law & rituals of the old covenant or
2. by just thinking of God's righteousness without doing it
The Pharisees thought that they had earned the guarantee of God's righteousness, and therefore, they could never lose it no matter how they victimized others, deceived the people, or sinned again and again in the future.
But, we are under the law of Christ to do righteousness, to love others, to do good, and to sin no more. We can never earn righteousness by doing good or doing righteousness; neither can we earn righteousness as our guarantee for God's approval for all our future sins too. We may not be perfectly righteous, but we repent and do righteousness with our conscious effort to turn away from sin and live godly lives irregardless of how much we are assured of God's righteousness. This could be the main difference between:
1. a sinner who still thinks of repentance after he repented and
2. a Pharisee who thought that they were already righteous and that they had no more need to repent:
Joh 5:14 KJV Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
We do righteousness not to become righteous; but ..
Many will still argue, "If we cannot earn righteousness by doing righteousness, why do you still teach or command the people to do righteousness?" I will tell them, That's a good question. If you cannot do righteousness to earn righteousness, do you still do righteousness? Yes, I will tell you that you MUST still do righteousness ! Why? It is because we will still do righteousness to obey God. We do righteousness in obedience to God's will and commandments. We do righteousness not to become righteous, but we do it to become obedient servants who know and do the will of God the Father:
Mat 7:21-22 KJV Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Many still argue, "But the warning above is not for us or the believers in the churches; it is for the believers of other religions or other gods." I will tell them, Please go back to understand the whole context of Mat 7 starting from Mat 5:1. Isn't it a teaching from The Sermon On The Mount to the disciples who were mostly Jews? How can it suddenly become a teaching, doctrine, or warning for the non-believers, or the believers of other religions or other gods? Something is wrong with your explanation.
If God would care how the poor, the innocent, or the sheep, were victimized, taken advantaged of, or oppressed by the false prophets or Pharisees, please think, will He care how His sheep are treated or taught by us too? If God would care how the false prophets, the Pharisees, or His servants behave, will He care how we behave too? Will He care how we will do good, practice righteousness, do His commandments, or do His will too? Yes, of course. Will He have good opinion of us if we still do and think like the Pharisees, the false prophets, or the hypocrites? The answer is clearly NO.
We must not only do righteousness; we must teach doing it too
Some will still argue, "Ok, ok, yes, we must do righteousness. But why must you tell us to do and teach righteousness? We don't have to do and teach it if we are really righteous in Christ because we will do it automatically by the Spirit of Christ. Heb 8:11 says that we don't have to teach the believers. If we teach too much or always tell them 'do good get good' or do, do, do.. , we are not effective preachers. We would become legalistic like the Pharisees."
Heb 8:11 KJV And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
I will tell them, Please read Heb 8:11 again. Do you know what you must not teach the believers? You do not teach them to know the Lord; but you can always teach them to know and do God's words and commandments in the scripture:
2Ti 3:13-17 KJV But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (14) But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; (15) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
You said that if we always teach the people about keeping God's commandments or doing righteousness, we will become legalistic
1. Didn't Jesus teach and tell the people or the woman to sin no more (Joh 5:14, 8::11-12)?
2. Didn't He teach us to turn away from sin with the parable of the prodigal son?
3. Didn't He teach us to do good with the parable of the good Samaritan?
4. Didn't He teach us to keep God's commandments (John 14-15)? Was He legalistic?
Jesus would never teach His disciples to just know God or know His words too. His doctrine is always about doing the words of God. It is one thing just to know the Word or know God (John 1:1); it is another to know His words AND do His words. Knowing the Word will only show that we know God or believe God (the devils believe God too - Jas 2:19); but doing the Word will show that we tasted Him, ate His words, and have His words in our lives. Doing His words is like eating the flesh of the Word.
Joh 1:1-14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God .. .. (12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
We do not do good get good from men; we do good get good from God
I have heard of many hyper grace preacher's criticism against the 'do good get good' principles as self-effort principles. I will ask them, Do you know that the 'do good get good' principles are the law and the prophets and the doctrine of Jesus Christ?
Mat 7:12 KJV Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Luk 6:31 KJV And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Gal 6:7 KJV Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Eph 6:2-3 KJV Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) (3) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
If the above principles are 'do good get good' principles or self-effort principles, they are good principles and they can be taught by the churches.
Many still argue, "But we should just do good without expectation of getting good. If we do good to get good, we are doing it with self-effort. We should expect God goodness and His free favor without us doing good or doing anything." I will tell them, Please read your Bible again. Did God say that you can expect His goodness and His free favor if you do evil? No, His judgements against sins and lawlessness, His warnings against doing evil, and His principles of what you sow is what you reap are all clear examples of 'do good get good' principles. We can never do good to get good from men, but we can certainly do good to get good from God. The Pharisees knew that the people must do good according to the commandments of God, but they changed the words of God until everybody would just 'confess' it:
Mat 15:5-7 KJV But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; (6) And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. (7) Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
Jas 4:17 KJV Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Eph 6:2-3 KJV Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) (3) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
Rev 22:12-14 KJV And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (13) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (14) Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Under the law of Christ, we do not just have high regard for God's laws
Luk 19:8-27 KJV And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. (9) And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. (10) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. (11) And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. (12) He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. (13) And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. .. .. (20) And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: (21) For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. (22) And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow .. ..
Many said that the 'Ten Pounds' represents what we can do for God. But, I think that the 'Ten Pounds' is something given by God, much more valuable than what we think, and priceless.
Others will say, "Yes, of course, God's gifts are priceless. But, there is no more giving of God's laws; only giving of God's favours, grace, prosperity, wealth, or riches which we must still multiply; otherwise we will lose our salvation because Jesus talked about it after He mentioned to Zacchaeus about salvation." I will tell them, No. Please think, If you believe in grace, do you think that it is 'grace' for God to judge His people based on how much (effort) they could do to multiply physical wealth or riches? No, if it is true, it is based on self-effort. Hence, I do not think that the 'Ten Pounds' represents wealth or riches; neither do I think that the 'Ten Pounds' represents grace. It's because you cannot do anything or any effort to multiply or add on to grace if it is really grace or really something which is given by grace. Hence, I prefer to think that the 'Ten Pounds' refers to God's commandments, God's words, God's principles, the doctrine of Christ, and something which we must keep and do.
However, many would just want to wrap the words of God in a 'napkin' to keep it and do nothing. They argue that they really treasure it and have high regard for it. But unknowingly or knowingly they made the words of God of none effect by wrapping it in their 'lawless napkin', covering it with a cloke of maliciousness, or deceitfully hiding it from the people with a lie. I believe that this is a rebellion which may cause many servants or preachers to lose their salvation, even though they may claim that they have repented like Zacchaeus.
Under the law of Christ, we do not just confess and confess ..
1Pe 2:15-16 KJV For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: (16) As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
Mat 15:5-6 KJV But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; (6) And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
Hence, when they did not do or preach what God commanded them to do or preach, they rebelled against the will of God and became wicked servants (Luke 19:22) or false prophets (Mat 7:15):
Mat 7:15-24 KJV Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (16) Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? .. (20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (24) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Under the law of Christ, we do not just confess and confess.. and boast of how much we love God or how much we have high regard for His laws; we do !
Many still argue, "Yes, under grace, we still have the commandment to love, but we have no more commandment to do, do, do.. If we are still doing many things, we are still under self-effort. Hence, the Ten Commandments which told us to do this and that are no longer valid for us. It is because Jesus has given us the new commandment just to love. Haha .., no more do's and don'ts .. what a revolution, what a relief !"
Joh 13:34-35 KJV A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (35) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
2Jn 1:5-7 KJV And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. (6) And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. (7) For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
I will tell them, Please do not just read your Bible, please think. When Jesus gave you a commandment to love, did He give you the commandment just to love? Did He give you the commandment not to do anything? Please think again. A fish which does not swim is dead, so is a commandment or love which does not do. If you do not do His commandment, how can you walk in His commandment? If you do not walk in His commandment, you have denied the Word who came in the flesh and who gave God's commandments to us.
Under the law of Christ, there is still law or commandment
The hyper grace people have not only confused themselves with their 'pure' grace doctrine, they have confused others too. If you ask them, "Is there still law or commandment under the New Covenant or under grace?", very likely you will get all kinds of answers from them. Some say 'Yes'. Some say 'No'. Some say 'Yes and No'. Some said 'Yes'; then they say 'No'. Some say 'No' now, but they will say 'Yes' later. Some will keep saying, 'Yes, .. No, .. Yes, .. No, .. Yes, .. No ..' until all the churches are totally confused. You can never find out what they really want to say, but they will always tell you that they have a better revolution to replace all the keeping of the laws and commandments of God. They will boast that they have a better preaching to replace all the teaching of the churches on God's laws and commandments.
I will tell them, I don't care if you have a better revolution or better preaching; but if you are under Christ, you must keep the laws and commandments of God. Of course, you do not keep God's laws to be saved, but you must keep the law of Christ to be in Christ. You do not keep God's laws to be born again, but you must keep God's laws if you are God's people.
Heb 8:10 KJV For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
You do not do good to be righteous, but you must do good if you are righteous. You do not do good to be saved, but you must do good if you are saved. You do not live godly lives to be a believer of Christ, but you must live godly lives if you are a believer. If you do not live godly lives, you are not a believer. It is the same law which is applied to the fish too. A fish does not swim to become a fish; it swims if it is a fish. If it does not swim, it is not a fish. For more stories about the fish, see: https://plus.google.com/103386467367636094616/posts/FUg75zhD4ye
Under the law of Christ, we will still confess our sins because we are the sons of God
Many think that confessing their sins will make them unrighteous or make them lose their righteousness. I will tell them, No, if you cannot earn your righteousness by confessing righteousness or doing righteousness, neither can you lose your righteousness by confessing your sins or confessing anything too. If the fish must swim because they know that they are the fish, the sons must obey because they know that they are the sons too. The sons, whether they are the good sons or prodigal sons, they will always confess their sins if they know that they are still the sons after sinning against their fathers. Hence, if a person could not repent or confess his sins to God even after he knew that he had sinned against God, he is not a son at all. The prayer of a true believer will always show if he is a child of God, not just because he will always call God the Father, but because he will always confess his sins to the Father whenever he knows that he has sinned or disobeyed God:
Luk 11:2-4 KJV And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. (3) Give us day by day our daily bread. (4) And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
Heb 12:5-9 KJV And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: (6) For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (7) If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (8) But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (9) Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Many argue that they can never sin or do wrong in the sight of God because they have 'earned' the righteousness of God through the blood of Jesus Christ, and therefore they will never lose their righteousness, never need to confess any sin, and never teach themselves and others to claim 1 John 1:9. I will tell them, In the parable, if the prodigal son did not think of going back to the father and confess his sins to him, the father might lose his son forever. If our children disobeyed and refused to confess their sins, we may not be able to get them back too. Hence, it is normal for all the sons to confess their sins to their fathers. Even a prodigal son or a wicked son is still a son. However, if the son finds it hard to confess his sins to his father, something is wrong. This can happen because of three possibilities:
1. The son thinks that he can be the father
2. The son thinks that he is better than the father, or
3. The son thinks that he has no more father
It means that the son can no longer be the son.
Similarly, if the believers have no more God or no more law, the believers do not have to confess their sins to God the Father too. But, it means that the believers are no longer the children of God. If they were believers, they are now lukewarm believers. If they were fish, they are the dead fish. If they were branches, they are the dead branches (Joh 15:5-10). If they were servants, the are the ungrateful servants (Mat 18:32). They were bought by the blood of the Lord, but they are now the false prophets:
2Pe 2:1-2 KJV But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2) And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
Mat 18:32-33 KJV Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: (33) Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
The Bible verses above are the great warning to those who have been bought by the blood of Jesus Christ and think that all their future sins are forgiven and that they can never lose their salvation even if they speak evil against the way of truth and sin anyway they like against others.
Under the law of Christ, we are the doers of God's laws
Under the law of Moses, the Jews and the Pharisees would just want to think (like a 'fish'); but under grace, we must do. Many argued that believing and thinking of God laws would make us legalistic. I will tell them, No, thinking and believing like the Pharisees will make us legalistic; but doing God's commandment will make us God's people. The Pharisees were hypocritical and legalistic because they would only do the law ritualistically (without really doing it with the love for God and others). If we conclude and say that all God laws will make men think and behave like the Pharisees, we are lying. It is like saying that "all men are legalistic, adulterous, wicked, and hypocritical, but women are gracious, pure, and innocent. Hence, the women are always the victims of men". It is a sweeping statement. Do you know that there were men who became the victims too?
Hence, the revolution of Jesus Christ today will still offend many people who think like the Pharisees. They still live and think with a form of godliness which is dead in the eyes of God:
2Ti 3:2-7 KJV For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; (5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (6) For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, (7) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Jas 2:18-20 KJV Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (19) Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. (20) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? .. (4:6-17) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble .. (15) For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. (16) But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. (17) Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Under the law of Christ, we are commanded to love and do righteousness
Under the law of Christ, we are commanded not just to love and think (and boast) about righteousness; we are commanded to love and do righteousness:
Mat 5:6 KJV Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Rom 6:17-23 KJV But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. (18) Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (19) I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. (20) For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. (21) What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. (22) But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. (23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 8:4-5 KJV That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
1Ti 6:10-15 KJV For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (12) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (13) I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; (14) That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: (15) Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
2Pe 2:19-22 KJV While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. (20) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. (21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (22) But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Under the law of Christ, we are subject to the law of God to do the law and the will of God
Hence, it is clear enough to all of us that the law of Christ or the holy commandment of Jesus Christ is not exactly same as the Ten Commandments in letters or words; but it is certainly a commandment to do all and fulfill all the righteousness of God's laws or commandments (including the Ten Commandments). It is also a commandment which proves that the Ten Commandments are still a commandment of Christ in the hearts and minds of all the believers whether they will do it knowingly or unknowingly; consciously or unconsciously; and mentally, spiritually, politically, .. etc. However, it won't be practised legalistically, abusively, blindly, radically, hypocritically, or carnally by the believers who are truly subject to the law of Christ:
Rom 8:2-7 KJV For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. .. (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. .. .. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Hence, under the law of Christ, we do righteousness not to earn righteousness; but to do the will of God because we love God. However, if believers would deliberately refuse to keep, do, or practice righteousness, does it mean that they will lose the righteousness of Christ? No, no one can lose the righteousness of Christ by doing it or not doing it, because it can never be earned by anyone. However, a believer who always argued against doing righteousness under the law of Christ would clearly show us that he had not been subject to the law of God or Christ. If he had never been subject to or under the law of Christ, he was not in Christ and would not have received the righteousness of Christ in the first place. Hence, he did not lose God's righteousness when he rebelled under the law of Christ; he was not in Christ. It simply showed that he had not received any righteousness of Christ too:
1. even though he might confess earnestly or argue vehemently that he was "the righteousness of God in Christ" five hundred times or five thousand times .. under grace or with the number of grace ..
2. or even if he confessed it by taking the holy communion everyday, sat at the feet of the most anointed glamorous preacher in the world, and meditated on all the positive Bible verses on the righteousness of Christ
The ironical thing is: many believers can go through all the hassles to do the above and spend much (radical) effort to confess, preach, believe, argue, learn, and meditate on the righteousness of God; but they cannot simply do it because they think that doing it is self-effort or legalistic effort.
Why do we still honor, maintain, and keep the law of God in our hearts, in our churches, families, and countries today?
If we do not have any legal law or God's law, very likely we will still be controlled by bad laws or inferior laws introduced by the wrong people in the end. It is because that 'vacuum for law' can be filled up easily by anything which is from men if it is not occupied by God's laws or good laws. A lawless nation or kingdom may enjoy temporary freedom or idealistic environment where everyone seems to live happily with one another without law. However, sooner or later the people will realize that no law is a bad law. Do we know what will happen if there is no law in a country? The president would get any salary he wants without the law. Similarly, the pastor would get any salary too. I say this not because I do not trust our president or pastor, but because I know myself and my own weaknesses. It's because I know that, if I were the president of the richest country in the world or the pastor of the biggest church in that country, I can still stumble and fall because of my own human weaknesses. If I were given the opportunity to get any exorbitant incredible salary amount, very likely I myself and many others would just gladly go for the maximum without thinking of any constraint or law of God. There is a tendency for us to just justify all our greed and the lust to get more by thinking of only grace, unmerited favor, or unlimited abundance, as God's approval for our service to Him. Although I can argue that I always have the Spirit of God, the wisdom and the understanding of God, or self-constraint to curb my greed and warn me of the danger of going into the uncontrollable lust to get exorbitant wealth, I would still prefer to have the law of God in my hearts, in my conscience, in my churches, my companies, my countries, or my external environments to put a check on me too (in case my sober mind is not sober enough to help me to think well or my self-constraint is not strong enough to stop me from doing the wrong things).
Of course, we do not have the law to tell the people how much a pastor or a president should be paid, but we do have the law of God to tell us (pictorially) how much is too much, or how much is covetousness, or how much is wicked in the sight of God?
Luk 16:19-31 KJV There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: (20) And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, (21) And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. (22) And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; (23) And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom .. .. (30) And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. (31) And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Luk 12:15-21 KJV And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. (16) And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: (17) And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? (18) And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. (19) And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. (20) But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? (21) So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
Can a preacher become wicked for prospering or getting too much?
Hence, if you ask me, "Between a monk and a pastor who both get the salary of $1,000,000,000.., who is more spiritual or more anointed?" I will say, They are both the same greedy wicked men who need to repent. With that kind of salary and the way they are boasting about it, getting it, and keeping it (without giving it away or restraining themselves from increasing it and receiving it), they show to God and men that they are greedy and covetous without the constraint and law of God. However, I have heard radical ignorant followers and widows (who have been brain-washed by their preachers) saying that they were willing to give anything to their idolized heroes until their heroes became their kings or princes because they believed that their heroes were God's anointed monks, pastors, priests, princes, prophets, apostles, leaders, or teachers who should live and be blessed like king David, king Solomon, or the multi-million dollar 'cook' who can 'feed' them spiritually. These poor followers who believed and supported their rich heroes with their finance and money were not poor materially or intellectually. They were poor followers because they did not know that they had been brain-washed to follow the religious boasters, deceivers, devils, or false prophets. They thought that everyone was jealous of them or jealous of their rich princes, anointed kings, or good looking pastors, when actually they had become too 'spiritual' (or too blinded) to think rationally:
Rev 3:17-18 KJV Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: (18) I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
The Pharisee were the religious charlatans under the Old Covenant
The Lord was speaking about the 'poor' followers under the New Covenant in the church of the Laodiceans above. However, do we know that the Lord had spoken about the 'poor' followers and miserable widows who were deceived by the scribes to give ignorantly and blindly under the Old Covenant too? I believe that Jesus and His disciples stopped giving to the temple when they knew that the scribes and the Pharisees were hypocrites. This could be one of the main reasons why the scribes and the Pharisees hated the doctrine or teaching of Christ and His disciples. The doctrine of Jesus was a revolution against the scribes, the Pharisees, or the religious charlatans under the Old Covenant. What is a religious charlatan: see https://plus.google.com/103386467367636094616/posts/JwDrfiUAXUW
Mar 12:38-42 KJV And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, (39) And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: (40) Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation. .. (42) And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing .. (13:1-6) And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! (2) And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (3) And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, (4) Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? (5) And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: (6) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
The false prophets are the religious charlatans in the end time
Jesus said it very clearly, There will be false prophets or religious charlatans under the New Covenant. They will keep testifying how their words can prosper you, liberate you, and give you all kinds of promises or assurance in the name of the Lord. However, they are actually the religious charlatans in the end time. They will come in the name of the Lord to preach Christ or to preach like Christ under the New Covenant. They will deceive many, even the elect (Mar 13:22). Hence, I believe that they will not declare it clearly, but subtly, gradually, progressively, convincingly, and then DECEITFULLY, to show that they are the Christ, like Christ, or another 'Christ' who has the lying power and words to deliver men or prosper men:
1. They may come and say, "As Christ is so am I (in everything). I am the Righteousness (of God) who can teach you a more excellent way. Listening to ME is like listening to Christ .. or vice versa. Haha .. "
2. They may say, "I come in His name to give you a better life and a better 'Christ' who has no more warning, judgement (or 'do good get good' principles), reproof, conviction, repentance, discipline, moral values, doctrine, demand, law, or commandment (of Christ) for you to do or keep; but only blessings, rest, finished work, unlimited supplies, ('MY') guarantee of forgiveness for all your future sin and lawlessness, effortless riches, unmerited favors, and abundance of grace for you to enjoy.. Haha, no wonder my God is too good to be true to me and many people are jealous of us .. "
3. They may preach subtly and say, "I am the Anointed (the Christ) who has the 'Rhema' words of God or the 'Now' words. Listen to ME; not the churches, not the law and the prophets (in Rev 11:10) , not the written words in your Bible. The old Christ and the churches still tell you to keep God's commandments or the Ten Commandments. But I am the revolution from the 'new Christ' and the new age. My name is: R e v o l u t i o n. I replace the Ten Commandments or the 'Decalogue'. We do not rule by the (seven) doctrine of Christ in Heb 6:1-3; we rule by lawlessness or by the desires of all sinners. We are truly of men, by men, and for men. Hence, we have the heart, the desire, and the name of men (which is the number of men 6 6 6) .."
Rev 13:1-18 KJV And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy .. (17) And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (18) Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
The false prophets and the beast will give the people more laws
The beast may help the people to live or behave more 'godly' without the commandments of God, but we know that he is a liar. It is because we know that the people are still given more laws for buying, selling, or doing many things under his teaching, deception, or law again. The people may have to confess, eat, pray, or think according to his new set of mental rules or anointed instructions eg. they can only confess righteousness and not any other thing which will make themselves humble before God (eg. sins), hence they must confess or think of righteousness for a certain number of times in a day, they must eat holy communion to receive healing or blessing, they must have good opinion of God if they would like to prosper, they must give to the beast, his inner circle, his 'company', or his church, to prosper, they must esteem highly of his teaching or revelations, and buy only his books, CDs, DVDs, sermons, or talks, they must not judge, disagree, or think negatively against anyone, especially the anointed ones like himself (in another words, they cannot think outside the framework of his 'revolution'), they must not do this .. and that .. Please think, Under which law would there be more freedom? His 'anointed laws' or the laws of God? I would follow the laws of God, not because I can find more freedom in God's laws, but because I know that the freedom from men, of men, and for men (666) is just a deception in lawlessness.
::
1. by just doing the law & rituals of the old covenant or
2. by just thinking of God's righteousness without doing it
The Pharisees thought that they had earned the guarantee of God's righteousness, and therefore, they could never lose it no matter how they victimized others, deceived the people, or sinned again and again in the future.
1Ti 6:10-15 KJV For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (12) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (13) I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; (14) That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: (15) Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
